《飘》的互文性研究

【摘要】:玛格丽特·米切尔,用内战史实和自己的亲身经历,创作了一部历史传奇《飘》。米切尔对自十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初的美国南方历史的回顾,并非偶然,与她同时期的南方作家对本土历史的回顾,使得美国南方在二十世纪三十年代出现文学的空前繁荣,以威廉·福克纳为代表。文学领域互文性研究有两步,一是联系,二是转化,《飘》的创作即是对前文本的联系与转化。本文从三个方面探讨《飘》与前文本---十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初美国南方历史文本---的联系与转化。第一章探讨《飘》与威廉·福克纳的《押沙龙,押沙龙!》的互文。本章从文学文本层面探讨《飘》与前文本---十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初美国南方历史文本---联系与转化,《押沙龙,押沙龙!》是前文本在文学层面的代表。《飘》与前文本的联系主要体现在两个小说文本的相似之处上。许多占主导地位的南方白人男性沉湎于失败的过去,跟不上时代进步的脚步,而女性在两部小说中的成长与女性意识的觉醒则熠熠生辉。一些不甘守旧的人提倡向北方学习,但是米切尔与福克纳并不赞同把南方“北方化”的做法,也在固步自封中看不到希望。两位作家怀着对南方故土的深切之情,渴望为南方的未来找到一条新的出路,但是受时代的局限,并未找到。《飘》对前文本的转化体现在《飘》从女性的视角重写历史,挑战了男性在文学文本的霸权。第二章探讨《飘》与南方社会价值观的互文。本章从社会语境层面探讨《飘》与前文本---十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初美国南方历史文本---联系与转化,南方社会价值观是前文本在社会语境层面的代表。社会价值观可分政治,经济和思想意识三个方面,美国南方社会价值观在十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初经历了剧烈变化。《飘》与前文本的联系主要体现在《飘》与南方社会价值观在政治、经济和思想意识方面的一致性。政治上,《飘》中反映的种族关系,与当时美国主流文化对种族关系的反应是一致的。经济上,主人公斯嘉丽的事业选择反应了美国南方在经济道路选择上的转变。思想意识上,斯嘉丽的爱情选择反应了美国南方作家在思想观念上的转变。《飘》对前文本的转化体现在米切尔对三K党行为的辩护,挑战了抨击三K党行为的主流话语。第三章探讨《飘》与其作者玛格丽特·米切尔亲身经历的互文。本章从历史背景层面探讨《飘》与前文本---十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初美国南方历史文本---联系与转化,小说作者的亲身经历是前文本在历史背景层面的代表。《飘》与前文本的联系体现在米切尔以自己为原型创作了生活在十九世纪的主人公斯嘉丽。米切尔的爱尔兰血统和爱尔兰精神,在女主人公斯嘉丽的身上都有所体现。米切尔与斯嘉丽都有对父权社会的抗争,在事业、婚姻爱情上对传统的反叛,但受时代的局限,她们的抗争与反叛都不彻底,反而回归传统的女性角色,放弃了女性的主体地位。《飘》对前文本的转化体现在米切尔以一个后来者的身份审视内战及内战后的历史,并未亲身经历内战。最后总结全文,《飘》的创作是基于已有的历史文本,从十九世纪中叶到二十世纪初的历史。互文由两个文本的联系与转化组成。小说《飘》取材于真实的历史,这便是两文本的联系;小说以一个女性的视角改编这段历史,融入作者的思想意识,作者以一个后来者的身份审视历史,这便是小说文本对历史文本的转化。因此,小说《飘》与美国历史互文。
[Abstract]:Margaret Mitchell, civil war history and their own personal experience, created a legend of Mitchell.
