《地下铁道》的后现代历史叙事书写研究

在后现代主义思潮触及历史哲学范畴之后,宏大历史叙事的真实性和权威性受到了普遍的质疑。研究者开始从“真实”和“虚构”来重新思考历史本质和历史书写的使命。历史的书写总是离不开权力关系和意识形态的约束。对历史问题和历史叙述的重新认知也从历史哲学范畴延伸到文学维度。建构于后现代主义的小说有着鲜明的自我指涉特征,既回归历史又质疑历史,试图揭示历史掩盖下的文化政治意味。非裔美国作家科尔森·怀特黑德的长篇小说《地下铁道》对美国内战前的社会背景进行历史性关照,充分发挥想象,虚构人物和故事情节,既反映了黑奴的生存状态,又体现了作者对边缘化的黑人族群命运的深切关怀。本文将《地下铁道》置于后现代历史语境,拟用海登·怀特的后现代历史叙事学和琳达·哈琴的后现代历史书写元小说作为主要理论框架,探讨《地下铁道》的后现代历史叙事书写手法,从而深究怀特黑德的文化政治意图和策略。首先,从“历史书写元小说”的角度解读作品,认为其既具有元小说强烈的自我指涉性,又悖谬地关注外在的历史现实。怀特黑德把小说建立在历史和现实的基础上,采用后现代反讽和戏仿的写作手法达到自揭虚构的目的,突显了历史的主观性和虚构性,暴露出深藏于文本的权力...
