谈“销红”的使用及其在“双脸销红”中词义

【摘要】：《莺莺传》中有"垂鬟粉黛,双脸销红而已"句。其中"销红"是一种临时组合,"销"义为"融化","红"指"脂粉",引申为"施脂粉"之义,而非描写"红色"的固定词语。梳理古诗文中的"销红",可以发现其意义和使用十分灵活,且都偏向描述"红"(花、容颜、蜡烛等等)的"消退",正面描写"红"的并不多,且亦多与"施脂粉"有关。此句另有作"断红"的版本,"销红"只有理解为"施脂粉"其意义才可能与"断红"相通。
