重建世界主义的精神根基:福斯特的《霍华兹庄园》

【摘要】：近来,在欧美现代主义研究的跨国转向中,越来越多的学者着眼于现代主义文本与美学价值在跨国体系中的产生、流通、翻译和接受,并常借用世界主义理论来阐释文本。在这一研究范式中,现代作家E.M.福斯特往往处于一种被边缘化的地位。通过分析二十世纪初"世界主义"的特有形态在《霍华兹庄园》的呈现,本文尝试揭示该小说如何展现了世界主义所必需的社会和精神根基,并以此探讨福斯特的自由世界主义人文理念与阿诺德、密尔及"新自由主义"思想的关联与异同。
[Abstract]:Recently, more and more scholars have focused on the emergence, circulation, translation and acceptance of Modernist Texts and aesthetic values in the transnational system of modernist studies in Europe and America, and often use cosmopolitanism to explain the text. In this research paradigm, the present writer, E.M. Forster, is often in a marginalized place. By analyzing the appearance of the unique form of cosmopolitanism in the early twentieth Century, this article tries to reveal how the novel shows the necessary social and spiritual foundations of cosmopolitanism, and discusses the similarities and differences between Forster's liberal cosmopolitan humanistic ideas and Arnold, mil and Neo liberalism.
