无法完成的追寻——《小世界》的圣杯隐喻与自省意识

【摘要】：《小世界》是戴维·洛奇校园三部曲之一,被誉为校园小说的代表作。洛奇继承了传统罗曼司中圣杯传奇的写法,且又有所创新。从圣杯隐喻的角度重新解析作品,就会发现洛奇对学院知识分子以及人类整体的自省意识。他认为,知识分子傲慢自大,他们有时候太迷信自己的重要性,其实他们早已走向庸俗化,陷入追名逐利的欲望,难以自拔。即使这样,知识分子以及人类整体还是没有停下不断追寻的脚步,这或许就是圣杯隐喻存在的价值。
[Abstract]:Small World is one of David Lodge's campus trilogy and is regarded as the representative work of campus novel. Lodge inherited the tradition of Roman Grail legend, and innovative. Re-analyzing the works from the perspective of the Holy Grail metaphor reveals Rocky's self-examination of the academic intellectuals and human beings as a whole. He believes that intellectuals are arrogant, sometimes too superstitious of their importance, in fact, they have gone to vulgarization, trapped in the pursuit of fame and wealth, difficult to extricate themselves. Even so, intellectuals and human beings as a whole have not stopped pursuing, which may be the value of the existence of the Grail metaphor.
