[Abstract]:From the perspective of Cassie Karus and Judith Herman's theory of trauma, this paper focuses on the emotional life of four pairs of mothers and daughters in Tammy. This paper analyzes and discusses how Amy Tan, a Chinese American writer, vividly illustrates and explains the past and present traumatic experiences of four pairs of mothers and daughters. Through the narrative of trauma, Amy Tan reveals the traumatic plight of Chinese women due to ethnic, gender and cultural repression, and constructs a series of profound female images. It provides a constructive way to solve ethnic minority problems and identity construction problems. As an important legacy of Chinese American literature, the Fiction Club is the product of the collision and hybridization between Chinese and American cultures. As a Chinese-American writer, Amy Tan has a dual cultural identity and vision, so she has a strong cultural feeling on the whole. As the first generation and the second generation of Chinese-American women, the four mothers and daughters in the novel are traumatized in the collision of Chinese and American culture. Whether it is the patriarchal system in old China or the hegemonic culture of the United States, the thoughts and living conditions of these four pairs of mothers and daughters in childhood and adulthood are all covered with unforgettable trauma. Based on the reading of the literature and the careful reading of the text, this paper analyzes the traumatic experiences of the four pairs of mothers and daughters in the Book of Happiness, and probes into the traumatic entanglement between the four mothers and daughters in the novel. According to the theory of trauma, the study tries to find out the causes of trauma in characters, and finds that emotional entanglement, race and gender-culture depression in historical traumatic memory are the main causes of trauma. In addition, the research also analyzes the methods of healing trauma, in which the awakening of female self-consciousness, the use of storytelling strategies and the construction of identity are important measures for wound recovery.
