严歌苓与纳博科夫小说创作比较研究
[Abstract]:In recent years, the research of Yan Geling and Nabokov's novels has received extensive attention, but the comparative study of them is lacking. Based on this, this paper will analyze their similarities and differences in novel creation from three aspects: narrative strategy, creation theme and language style, and Yan Geling's study and reference to Nabokov in the aspect of novel creation. It is not only helpful to open up the comparative field of contemporary literature research in China, but also to understand the creative characteristics of contemporary writers in China and the factors influenced by foreign literature. This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes the similarities and differences between Yan Geling and Nabokov's narrative strategies in their novels. In terms of meta-narrative, they all like to tell readers in their narration that their works are fictional, that they all like to adopt a storytelling technique, but that Yan Geling likes to impose his own subjective will on the characters in his narration, and the difference is that Yan Geling likes to impose his own subjective will on the characters in his narration. Have the suspicion of showing off skills; In the visual narrative, they all like to describe the movements of the characters, the visual scenes and the dialogue between the characters, but Yan Geling is more willing to describe the movements of the characters and use them to promote the development of the story. Nabokov, on the other hand, is happy to describe the environment and the psychology of the characters. In the aspect of collage narrative, while they are carrying on subjective explanation and comment, they constantly collage the story scene, make the character shuttle in the past, present, future; And in detail, their detailed description can produce false and real effect. In addition, Yan Geling also formed his own narrative characteristics, preferring to use multi-person compound narrative and children's narrative perspective. The second chapter mainly analyzes the narrative themes that Yan Geling and Nabokov often used in their novels. First, the theme of exile, although they all have exiled experiences, Nabokov, who received elite education, The characters in his works are very confident and insist on themselves in exile, while Yan Geling's characters accept everything in exile with the gesture of the weak and the attitude of tolerance. Second, the theme of freedom, because of the experience of exile, immigration or just the pursuit of an ideal life, they are eager to pursue freedom, but Yan Geling's pursuit of freedom is mostly material, especially in her immigrant works. The freedom that Nabokov pursues is mostly spiritual; Third is the love theme, in the process of expressing this theme, Yan Geling takes women as the narrative protagonists, Nabokov takes the men as the narrative protagonists, and Yan Geling writes that the women who pursue love are mostly stoic, tolerant, attached, and humble. And the lack of women's consciousness of independence, and Nabokov's men are more powerful, active, independent intellectuals; Fourth, the theme of human nature, they all like to describe small potatoes to show the good and evil of human nature, the difference is that Nabokov works less moral criticism, more profound thinking of human nature, leaving more room for readers to think. The third chapter starts with the language of Yan Geling and Nabokov in the novel creation, and finds that both Yan Geling and Nabokov like to describe the pronunciation of characters and are good at using vivid figurative metaphors. What's more, Yan Geling's metaphor is not as unique and vivid as Nabokov's, and the language used in other countries is not as rich as Nabokov's. In addition to the use of Putonghua, he also likes to incorporate the language of another country or colloquial language in his work. The metaphor used by Yan Geling is not as unique and vivid as Nabokov's. She uses more native Chinese dialects. To sum up, we find that Yan Geling is similar to Nabokov in both narrative strategy, theme, language style and Nabokov in the process of novel creation, especially in the conception of novel creation.
