创伤理论视角下的《无声告白》解读

　　 伍绮诗(Celeste Ng)是当代美国华裔文坛继汤亭亭、谭恩美、黄玉雪等知名女作家之后最具代表性的华裔作家之一。华人与美国人的双重身份赋予了伍绮诗对华裔家庭、文化身份等问题独特的视角。《无声告白》(Everything I never Told You)是伍绮诗耗时6年完成的第一本长篇小说,也是首部重点关注跨族裔华裔美国家庭的文学作品。自2014年问世以来,该作品受到了海内外的广泛关注与高度好评,2014年以最高销量被评选为2014年亚马逊年度最佳书籍(英文类书籍)。小说以小女儿莉迪亚(Lydia)的“离奇失踪”为切入点,探讨了华裔家庭在美国社会中所遭受的种种困境,反映了华裔家庭在美国主流社会中格格不入的尴尬地位。伍绮诗试图通过此作让华裔所遭受的痛苦发出声音。小说婉转朴实的语言、细腻深入的心理刻画、紧凑清晰的剧情设置以及独特的文化背景吸引了众多学者的关注。他们分别从身份认同、女性身份、叙事策略等角度进行过探讨,但是鲜有人从创伤的角度进行研究。本文基于创伤理论拟对该小说文本进行分析。本文首先探讨《无声告白》中这个华裔家庭遭受的心理及情感创伤。其次分析家庭创伤产生的原因,包括华裔在美国主流社会中受到的歧视与排挤、父权制社会下女性角色边缘化、家庭中的种种矛盾等等。笔者认为家庭创伤外因来源于社会大环境的影响,而内因则来自于家庭成员的相互作用。最后本文探讨了文中家庭创伤痊愈的过程。通过对《无声告白》中华裔家庭的创伤症状、原因及痊愈过程的分析,本文试图揭露美国主流社会对华裔及华裔家庭的排挤、歧视及造成的心理创伤。著名心理学家朱迪思·赫尔曼(Judith Herman)指出受创者需要建立更加亲密、和谐的关系。对于华裔家庭来说,心理创伤是社会压力、家庭矛盾的外在反应。只有家庭成员之间建立和谐关系、直面伤痛回忆,才能顺利走出创伤阴霾,建立和谐共处的家庭和社会。这是作者伍绮诗寄予小说的美好展望,也是笔者的初衷!
