文学地理学视域下《推销员之死》中景观表征的悲剧内涵

阿瑟·米勒作为20世纪蜚声剧坛的戏剧大师,在当代美国戏剧界执牛耳长达数年,其作品大多关注战后美国资本主义发展带来的诸多社会问题。《推销员之死》是米勒最著名的悲剧作品,也是战后美国剧坛的扛鼎之作。在创作《推销员之死》时,正值资本主义景观社会的发展时期,米勒聚焦被城市景观所包围的普通群众的生存发展问题,巧妙地将戏剧中主人公威利·洛曼一家的悲剧性命运与景观的在场直接联系起来。景观不仅是戏剧发生的几何空间,还是戏剧主题的重要表征媒介。《推销员之死》是一部由景观引发的故事,威利·洛曼一家的一生都与其所在区域的棱角分明的公寓景观、一维封闭的房屋景观以及寸草不生的后花园景观有着紧密的联系。鉴于此,本文聚焦戏剧中的三大景观,运用文学地理学理论,通过分析景观作为当代资本主义生产方式的视觉映像对社群关系、家庭关系以及人与自然关系所建构的在场性影响与意义,揭示戏剧中景观的悲剧内涵,从而阐释洛曼一家生存困境的深层机理,以期引发人们对当今景观社会的重要思考。论文主要包括引言、正文和结论三个部分。引言部分讨论了文学地理学的发展机遇;剖析了米勒对当代城市景观与人的生存关系的极大关注,以及《推销员之死》的创作背景和主...
