奇卡娜边缘地位—《喊女溪及其他》与《卡拉米洛披肩》评析

桑德拉·希斯内罗丝是当代美国文坛上著名的墨西哥裔女作家,因1984年出版的处女作《芒果街上的小屋》一举成名,此后的《喊女溪及其他》和《卡拉米洛披肩》出版后就受到了广泛关注和高度评价。希斯内罗丝的作品从女性视角,细致描绘处于各年龄阶段的奇卡娜在美国主流社会中的生存现状和成长经历。白人霸权主义和男权主义的双重压迫使得奇卡娜的家庭和社会地位长期处于边缘化状态。希斯内罗丝用故事揭露她们的遭遇,表达她们的心声和对压迫势力的反抗。她的作品为墨西哥文学在美国主流社会中赢得了关注和重视,也为美墨两国人民的理解沟通架起了文化桥梁。鉴于《喊女溪及其他》和《卡拉米洛披肩》的故事内容都是在美墨边境背景下发生的,所以本文从边界视角出发,对两部作品中边界和跨边界的影响来解读故事中的主角们的遭遇。跨越物理边界后,两部作品中身处美国社会的主角们都感受到无依无靠、身如飘零的痛苦。她们都处于社会最底层,难以逾越的阶级沟鸿和无法摆脱的种族歧视和性别歧视将她们推向社会的边缘。经历了各种打击和绝望,《喊女溪及其他》中的大部分女主角们纷纷做出了反抗,有的选择脱离传统男女关系,有的选择抛弃女性的贞洁形象,还有的决定保持单身避免相夫...
