以微信为媒介的个体社会资本建构研究

【摘要】:从传播学的视角来看,人类社会的发展在很大程度上是由媒介推动的,技术在媒介发展中扮演者催化剂的功能。每一种新媒介技术的产生都会带来一种全新的传播环境,进而影响人类行为。以媒介作为线索,人类社会被划分为口语传播阶段、文字传播阶段、印刷传播阶段和电子传播阶段,以及当下的互联网传播阶段。传播技术和环境的变化催生了新的人际交往模式,如互联网传播由于克服了时间和空间的限制,进而使人际沟通保持了一种实时在线状态。人际传播是人类社会最普遍的传播类型,其最终目的是实现资源的交换,以满足自身的生存需求。通常意义下,这些社会资源包括情感资源,物质资源和信息资源等。由于不同时期人际交往所依靠的媒介不尽相同,受到媒介技术本身的规训,其资源交换模式也必然存在差异。在移动互联网获得普遍应用的大环境下,探讨技术创造物如何影响人类获取社会资源以及人类应该如何借助技术创造物更好地谋得社会资源,实现自身发展,就变得十分重要了。“社会资本”理论为我们研究人际传播与大众传播的结合提供了恰当的切入点。“社会资本”理论的研究从三个层面切入:宏观层面,主要关注社会资本在国家经济发展中的作用;中观层面,关注企业或组织中的社会资本问题;微观层面,关注个体运用社会资本促进自身发展的问题。媒介技术的发展在给人类提供便捷的同时也规训了人类的交往行为,个人在使用微信进行人际交往的同时必然受到软件本身功能设置的限制,从而对以人际网络为依托的社会资本产生影响。本文以微信为研究对象,探讨微信本身的技术特征在个人社会资本获取过程中的发生机制以及微信给使用者带来了哪些社会资本,存在何种特征,有何功能等。由于微信特殊的功能设置,嵌入在微信关系网络中的社会资本呈现出双关系化、低成本化和多元化特征。依托在微信独特人际关系网络中的个体社会资本同时发挥着正面功能和负面功能,一方面微信可以形成粘合稳固的社交圈,并大大降低在该社交圈中成员的交易成本,同时提供情感支持;另一方面过于稳固的人际圈子加剧了个体向外拓展的惰性,导致资源浪费和集体逃离。
[Abstract]:From the perspective of communication, the development of human society is to a large extent driven by the media, and technology plays the role of catalyst in the development of the media. Each new media technology will bring a new communication environment, and then affect human behavior. Taking the media as the clue, human society is divided into oral communication stage, text communication stage, print communication stage and electronic communication stage, as well as the current Internet communication stage. The change of communication technology and environment has given birth to a new mode of interpersonal communication, such as Internet communication, because it overcomes the limitation of time and space, and then makes the interpersonal communication maintain a real-time online state. Interpersonal communication is the most common type of communication in human society, and its ultimate purpose is to realize the exchange of resources to meet its own survival needs. In general, these social resources include emotional resources, material resources and information resources. Because interpersonal communication depends on different media in different periods and is disciplined by media technology itself, the mode of resource exchange is bound to be different. In the general environment where mobile Internet is widely used, this paper discusses how technology creation influences human beings' access to social resources and how human beings should better obtain social resources and realize their own development by means of technological creation. It becomes very important. The theory of "social capital" provides an appropriate starting point for us to study the combination of interpersonal communication and mass communication. The research of the theory of "social capital" begins from three aspects: macroscopic level, focusing on the role of social capital in national economic development, meso level, concern about social capital problem in enterprise or organization, micro level, Pay attention to the problem of individual using social capital to promote their own development. The development of media technology not only provides convenience to human beings, but also discipline human communication behavior. While individuals use WeChat for interpersonal communication, they are bound to be restricted by the function settings of the software itself. Thus the social capital relying on the interpersonal network has an impact. Taking WeChat as the research object, this paper discusses the mechanism of WeChat's technical characteristics in the process of individual social capital acquisition, what social capital WeChat brings to users, what characteristics exist and what functions WeChat has. Because of the special function setting of WeChat, the social capital embedded in WeChat relationship network is characterized by double relationship, low cost and diversification. The individual social capital based on WeChat's unique interpersonal network plays both positive and negative functions. On the one hand, WeChat can form a stable social circle and greatly reduce the transaction costs of its members. On the other hand, too strong interpersonal circle increases the inertia of individual outward expansion, leading to waste of resources and collective escape.
