[Abstract]:Growth differentiation factor-15 (growth differentiation factor-15,GDF-15 (GDF-15) is a member of the TGF- 尾 (transforming growth factor beta,TGF- 尾) superfamily. The expression of GDF-15 is usually significantly increased with pathological damage of brain tissue, cancer, cardiovascular disease and inflammatory reaction. Make it a potential disease biomarker protein. Recent studies have shown that GDF-15 plays a neurotrophic role in the nervous system, while recent studies have revealed that GDF-15 modulates the expression of ion channels in neurons and affects the synaptic transmission function. In cancer and the cardiovascular system, GDF-15 is also involved in a variety of complex regulatory mechanisms. In this paper, the expression regulation, mechanism and main pathophysiological effects of GDF-15 were introduced, and the biological activity of GDF-15 and its value in basic research and clinical application were discussed.
