【摘要】：本论文分析海明威短篇小说中的概念隐喻。依据莱考夫与强生(1980)、莱考夫与特纳(1989)、和Kovecses(2002)对英语中常规隐喻的研究,小说中海明威使用的概念隐喻将与部分常规隐喻作对比。分析表明多数海明威的新奇隐喻都是基于常规隐喻的再创造。少数更为个性化的新奇隐喻传达了海明威对现实世界的独特观点与理解。较之意象隐喻,海明威较多的使用了能起到构建全文作用的概念隐喻。概念隐喻在作品中起到了构建全文的作用,是解读海明威“水面下八分之七的冰山”的关键。论文主要探讨的是三种隐喻类型(结构隐喻,方向隐喻和本体隐喻)之一的结构隐喻和意象隐喻。论文第一章绪论阐述了研究目的、意义以及文章结构,第二章综述前人研究,第三章以海明威短篇小说和其他作品中的概念隐喻为例,简略介绍了莱考夫的概念隐喻理论。第四章分别具体分析了《大双心河》、《白象似的群山》和《一个干净明亮的地方》三篇短篇小说中的概念隐喻,探讨其概念隐喻对构建全文,读者理解和赏析作品的作用。三篇短篇小说分别出自不同的小说集,以期展现海明威不同时期,不同主题的作品。论文最后一章提出结论并指出未来可从认知诗学的其它角度对海明威短篇小说进行全面、深入分析。
[Abstract]:This thesis analyzes conceptual metaphors in Hemingway's short stories. Based on the study of conventional metaphors in English by Lakoff and Johnson (1980), Lakoff and Turner (1989), and Kovecses (2002), the conceptual metaphors used by Hemingway in the novel will be compared with some conventional metaphors. The analysis shows that most of Hemingway's novel metaphors are based on the re-creation of conventional metaphors. A few more individualized novel metaphors convey Hemingway's unique view and understanding of the real world. Hemingway used more conceptual metaphors than imagery metaphors. Conceptual metaphor plays an important role in constructing the full text and is the key to interpret Hemingway's the iceberg of 7/8 below the Water. This paper mainly discusses the structural metaphor and image metaphor of one of the three types of metaphor (structural metaphor, directional metaphor and Noumenon metaphor). The first chapter introduces the purpose, significance and structure of the research, the second chapter summarizes the previous studies, the third chapter takes Hemingway's short stories and other works as an example, briefly introduces Lakoff's conceptual metaphor theory. The fourth chapter analyzes the conceptual metaphors in three short stories, "Big Shuangxin River", "White Elephant Mountains" and "A Clean and bright place", and probes into the role of conceptual metaphors in constructing the full text, understanding and appreciating the works. The three short stories come from different collections of novels in order to show Hemingway's works of different periods and themes. In the last chapter, the author points out that Hemingway's short stories can be comprehensively and deeply analyzed from other aspects of cognitive poetics.
