康拉德《在西方的注视下》的元小说叙事策略研究

　　《在西方的注视下》是约瑟夫·康拉德第三部、也是最后一部重要的政治小说,通常被认为是康拉德最出色的作品之一。正如F.R.利维斯所说,“它是非常地出色,因而一定要算在可以稳定确立康拉德作为英国大师之一的那些作品中”。 本文根据元小说相关理论与创作实践,并结合叙事学的研究方法,主要探讨《在西方的注视下》中的元小说叙事策略及其所体现的康拉德的艺术观和哲学观。论文分为引言、正文、结语三大部分。引言部分首先概括国内外对《在西方的注视下》的研究成果,重点说明本论文的选题依据和研究意义。正文部分由三章构成。第一章简要介绍元小说的各种定义,界定元小说的突出特征和共同特征,同时简要阐明了元小说与后现代主义之间的关系。在此基础上,归纳了两类主要的元小说叙事策略,即暴露叙事虚构性策略和打破框架策略。第二章重点研究了元小说叙事策略在《在西方的注视下》中的具体运用。首先,“中国盒子”叙事结构以及多重叙事视角的运用及其转换打破了传统的叙事方式,演绎了一个典型的元小说框架；其次,双重叙事策略在小说中的运用很大程度上体现了该文本的元小说特征。此外,《在西方的注视下》使用了互文性技巧增强文本的虚构性,如它同许多文学作家及...
