[Abstract]:As an important critical realism novelist from the 19th century to the 20th century, Hardy has made great achievements in the field of novel and poetry creation. Hardy's novel creation has its own unique characteristics, most of which are based on the "Wessex" country as a unified background, in which the environment and characters have very local characteristics. "returning to Home" is one of Hardy's "character and Environment" series of novels. The novel epitomizes the distinctive local or regional color of the Aggleton wasteland. This paper reinterprets Hardy's return to Home from the perspective of biological regionalism in order to analyze the conflict and fusion between the wasteland residents and the local environment under the guidance of biological regionalism. This paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, including Thomas Hardy and his works introduction, literature review, the theoretical basis of the paper biological regionalism and Hardy's biological region ideas and the framework of the paper. The first chapter mainly discusses the characteristics of biological regionalism embodied in the Aggleton wasteland. As a real existence, the Eagleton wasteland has its own unique local characteristics of natural environment. The second chapter discusses in detail the harmonious symbiosis with the Eagleton wasteland in the novel: the simple wasteland inhabitants and their purity? True love. One of the basic principles of biological regionalism is to emphasize the harmony between human beings and their habitat. The inhabitants of the wasteland make a living by the natural resources provided by the wasteland. Their simple character, their benevolent behavior and their simple love for each other are formed in special geography? Natural environment The third chapter discusses the factors that run counter to the wasteland in the novel: the leading actor? The conflict between the heroine Utessa and the wasteland and their insincere love. Biological regionalism emphasizes that residents living in a specific area must have a strong sense of identity to the region, accompanied by a recognition of the area and the desire to enrich it. It is emphasized that people living here should keep the natural ecological areas from disappearing in a way that enriches them. In the novel, although born in the wasteland, Klin is not satisfied with the present situation of the wasteland and devotes himself to the transformation of the wasteland, Utthansa is not content with the barren and dull nature of the wasteland and tries to escape from the wasteland. The utilitarian and illusory love between Klin and Utthansa and the final broken marriage. Their conflict with the wasteland stems from their disapproval of the wilderness. The fourth chapter discusses the settlement of the conflict between man and nature. Including Utthansa's self-redemption in nature? Klin's self-return in nature and Tomasin's accumulation of power in nature. The principle of rehabitation in biological regionalism provides a solution to the alienation and contradiction between human beings and their biological regions.
