论《女勇士》对种族与性别身份的追求

【摘要】：汤亭亭被列为最有影响力的华裔美国女性作家之一,她于1976年完成了她的名著《女勇士》并引起了国内外文学界的广泛关注。自此书发表后,许多学者纷纷对这部作品从各个方面进行了探讨。他们大部分将焦点放在了以下的研究领域：女性主义、文化、叙述以及身份认同等。从身份角度对此书进行分析研究是很有意义的,因为其作者汤亭亭本身就是一位具有多重身份的少数族裔女性作家。长久以来,华裔女性一直面临着“双重边缘人”的身份困惑。一方面,她们生活在男性为主导的现实社会中,必须面对来自于父权社会对女性的压迫和歧视；另一方面,由于生活在由不同种族群体构成的异质文化环境中,她们又无法适应中国传统文化与周围异质文化之间的巨大差异。《女勇士》描述了一位华裔女孩区分幻想和现实,然后重新塑造女性和华裔身份的历程。正是从性别和种族身份的角度,汤亭亭开始了她的身份探索之旅。将对性别和种族身份的探索作为全文的线索,这部作品可以划分为以下三部分：身份的缺失、身份的困惑以及身份的建构。它勾勒出华裔自我意识觉醒的过程和自我表述的强烈愿望。本论文采用文本细读和文献研究方法,试图从以下三个方面探讨《女勇士》中的身份问题：身份的缺失、身份的困惑以及身份的建构。全文共有五章组成。第一章是介绍部分,简要描述了汤亭亭及其作品、国内外对其作品的研究现状、身份理论还有研究意义。第二章主要围绕身份的缺失展开。这部分不仅涉及到华裔面临的现实身份危机,同时也分析了作品中典型人物所面临的身份问题。第三章重点讨论了华裔对其身份的困惑。第四章关于第一代和第二代中国移民建构其独特种族身份的历程以及华裔女性通过塑造独立女性形象摆脱封建束缚的过程。最后一章则是对整篇论文的总结。分析华裔如何对自己与外界生存环境之间的关系进行定义对华裔文学的建构、发展及完善都是非常重要的。同时,对华裔身份的反思于华裔日渐成熟和美国文化的多元性也具有现实意义。
[Abstract]:Maxine Hong Kingston is listed as one of the most influential Chinese American female writers. She completed her masterpiece, Women Warriors, in 1976 and attracted wide attention in literary circles at home and abroad. Since the publication of this book, many scholars have discussed the work from various aspects. Most of them focus on the following areas of research: feminism, culture, narration, and identity. It makes sense to analyze this book from the perspective of identity, because its author Kingston is an ethnic minority woman writer with multiple identities. For a long time, Chinese-American women have been confronted with the identity confusion of "double marginal people". On the one hand, they live in a male-dominated society and must face the oppression and discrimination of women from patriarchal society. On the other hand, because of living in a heterogeneous cultural environment made up of different ethnic groups, They are unable to adapt to the great difference between the traditional Chinese culture and the surrounding heterogeneous culture. Female Warrior describes the course of a Chinese girl to distinguish fantasy from reality and then to remodel the identity of female and Chinese. It is from the perspective of gender and ethnic identity that Kingston begins her journey of identity exploration. This work can be divided into the following three parts: the lack of identity, the confusion of identity and the construction of identity. It outlines the process of self-consciousness awakening and the strong desire of self-expression. Using the methods of text reading and literature research, this paper attempts to discuss the identity problems in the female Warriors from the following three aspects: identity loss, identity confusion and identity construction. The full text consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, briefly describes Kingston and his works, domestic and foreign research on his works, identity theory and research significance. The second chapter focuses on the lack of identity. This part not only involves the realistic identity crisis faced by Chinese people, but also analyzes the identity problems faced by typical characters in the works. The third chapter focuses on the confusion of Chinese people about their identity. The fourth chapter deals with the course of the first and second generation Chinese immigrants to construct their unique ethnic identity and the process of Chinese women getting rid of feudal bondage by shaping the image of independent women. The last chapter is a summary of the whole paper. It is very important to analyze how Chinese people define the relationship between themselves and their living environment for the construction, development and perfection of Chinese literature. At the same time, the reflection on the identity of Chinese is of practical significance in the maturation of Chinese and the diversity of American culture.
