后现代视角下的身份认同：《梦娜在希望之乡》

【摘要】：任碧莲是当今华裔女作家的代表人物之一,作为美国移民的第二代作家,有较高的知名度。其代表作品包括:《典型的美国人》《梦娜在希望之乡》《爱妻》以及短篇小说合集《谁是爱尔兰人?》。《梦娜在希望之乡》是作家任碧莲的第二部代表作品,故事讲述了一个在美国社会长大的第二代华裔女孩,张梦娜,在面对自己身份困惑的同时历经选择、成长的故事。本文从后现代主义的角度解读《梦娜在希望之乡》一书的身份认同问题。第二代华裔作家的任碧莲的代表作品《梦娜在希望之乡》,一方面沿袭了华裔文学作品的经典主题—身份观主题;另一方面,颠覆了传统的种族及身份观念,即认为身份是固有的,唯一的,是一成不变的。主人公梦娜成长于美国白人社会,接受美国的学校教育,有着中国家庭的思想传统熏陶,却最终义无返顾的选择了信仰犹太教,并且认为身份是流动的,是可以根据意愿和经历随之改变。这是一种不同于先前华裔文学作品的崭新、多元、杂合的身份观,这种多元主义的身份观念显示出一种强烈的后现代主义色彩:内在不确定,杂糅以及多元主义,而主人公梦娜对于身份的困惑,追寻以及身份的整合与后现代主义的理论特征是相吻合的。这种崭新的身份观对于其他的华裔文学移民类小说有很强的借鉴意义。本文旨在着力阐释《梦娜在希望之乡》一书主人公的身份建构过程以及成因,并着力从后现代主义的理论角度分析其身份特征,以期达到证明小说主人公梦娜的身份建构过程体现了后现代理论特色的目的。
[Abstract]:Ren Bilian is one of the representative characters of Chinese female writers. As the second generation of American immigrant writers, she has a high reputation. His representative works include: "the typical American", "Mona in the hometown of Hope" and "who is Irish?" Mona is the second representative work of writer Ren Bilian. The story tells the story of a second generation of Chinese-born girls who grew up in American society, Zhang Mengna, in the face of her identity confusion while experiencing choices, growing up story. This paper interprets the identity of Mona in the Land of Hope from the perspective of post-modernism. The representative work of Ren Bilian of the second generation of Chinese writers, Mona in the Land of Hope, on the one hand follows the classic theme of Chinese literature-the theme of identity view; On the other hand, it subverts the traditional idea of race and identity, that is to say, identity is inherent, unique and immutable. The protagonist Mona grew up in the white American society, received school education in the United States, had the ideological tradition of the Chinese family, but eventually chose to believe in Judaism without turning back, and believed that identity was floating. It can be changed according to will and experience. This is a brand-new, pluralistic and hybrid concept of identity, which is different from the previous works of Chinese literature. This pluralistic concept of identity shows a strong post-modernism color: internal uncertainty, hybridity, and pluralism. The protagonist Mona's perplexity, pursuit and conformity of identity are consistent with the theoretical characteristics of post-modernism. This brand-new concept of identity has a strong reference significance for other immigrant novels of Chinese literature. The purpose of this paper is to explain the process and cause of identity construction of Mona's protagonist in the Land of Hope, and to analyze the identity characteristics of Mona from the perspective of post-modernism. In order to achieve the purpose of proving the identity construction process of the protagonist Mona reflects the characteristics of post-modern theory.
