论《喜福会》中的叙事技巧
[Abstract]:Happiness Club is a famous work by Amy Tan in 1989. The book takes the loss and return of the relationship between Chinese mother and American daughter as the main clue in the immigrant family, and combs it through the memory of the mother and daughter who tell the story in turn. The success of Happiness Club established Tan Emi's important position in the history of Chinese-American literature and helped Chinese-American literature become an important part of mainstream American literature. In addition, Amy Tan also discusses the living conditions of Chinese abroad in the 20th century, especially the grasp of their destiny in foreign countries by overseas Chinese women. Through the analysis of the novel's unique narrative techniques, this paper highlights the unique narrative charm of the work and the inherent relationship between this narrative technique and the theme of the book. Based on the narrative theories of literary theorists Rimon Kennan, Gerard Genette and Susan Lanther, this paper analyzes the narrative techniques of "Happy Happiness Club" in the framework of the narrative theories of literature theorists Rimon Kenan, Gerard Genette and Susan Lanser. This paper mainly consists of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The first chapter is the introduction part, which introduces the writing background, research status and structure of Tan Enmei and Happy Happiness Club. The text is divided into four parts. It discusses the narrative techniques used by Amy Tan in her creation of the Joy Luck Club, including character shaping, narrative time, narrative voice and narrative discourse. The second chapter discusses the character shaping. There are eight characters in the Happy Blessing Club. Amy Tan skillfully uses the direct character expression and indirect character expression method of Rimon Kennan's theory in shaping these characters. Flexible use of character dialogue and character behavior to show readers the characteristics of Chinese-American women. The third chapter analyzes the narrative time of the novel, including narrative sequence, narrative length and narrative frequency. This paper analyzes the wrong time (Chinese mahjong structure), the non-equivalent time span and the frequency of different events in the novel through the narrative time theory of Genette and Rimon-Kenan, and reveals their literary functions. Amy Tan creatively adopted the Chinese mahjong structure in the narrative sequence. In addition, she skillfully uses the narrative length of different events to constantly change the narrative pace. Moreover, Amy Tan uses the frequency of specific events to reflect the contradictions between characters, highlighting the theme of the novel. Chapter four analyzes the narrative voice of the novel, including author voice, individual voice and collective voice. This chapter is based on Susan Lanther's feminist narratology theory. Amy Tan cleverly uses a variety of voices, so that the Chinese-American women show their true and survival situation in an all-round way. The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the narrative discourse level, involving the protagonist's direct speech and free direct speech and so on. The conclusion gives a brief overview of the research results of this paper. Through the above research, we can draw the following conclusion: by using these narrative techniques, Amy Tan showed us the conflict and communication among the four pairs of mothers and daughters, and discussed the living conditions of Chinese abroad in the 20th century. It truly reproduces the social reality of China and the United States at that time, especially the grasp of their destiny by overseas Chinese women in foreign countries. The success of the Joy Club laid an important position for Tan Enmei in the history of Chinese-American literature. It is beneficial for Chinese literature to become an important part of mainstream American literature. The combination of the above techniques and the theme of the novel makes Amy Tan cleverly expand the influence of Chinese literature in the world and enhance the artistic charm of Happiness Club.
