现代人对“真相”的追寻—对《黑暗的心》的原型解读

作为一位在英国文学史上占有重要地位的波兰裔英国小说家,约瑟夫·康拉德被公认为是从维多利亚时期小说到二十世纪文学的转型过程中的代表人物。他著名的小说《黑暗的心》也因此吸引了国内外众多的批评家采用各种各样的批评方法,多角度去对它进行分析批评,国内外研究者主要从政治,哲学,心理学,女性主义,象征性意义等各个不同视角对小说进行了比较深入地研究和阐释,并取得了一定的研究成果。这无疑为拓宽视野打开新思路,为进一步深入研究这部小说铺平了道路。西方评论家把《黑暗的心》与维吉尔的《伊尼德》,但丁的《地狱篇》进行比较研究,认为该小说的意象和主题分别使用了《伊尼德》和《地狱篇》中的原型。国内也有读者认为《黑暗的心》中马洛的刚果之行是使他由一名不谙世事的青年蜕变成为一个世故的与现实达成妥协的成人的仪式。与上述研究的侧重点不同的是本文以弗莱的神话--原型批评理论和《圣经》为依据,以文本分析的方式比较系统全面地研究了《黑暗的心》中的原型,包括人物形象原型,叙述模式原型,意象原型和母题原型。神话-原型批评要求读者把文学作品作为一个有机整体加以研究,同时也关注各个原型在整个文学作品中发挥的作用和功效。因此这篇论文试图...
