从生态女性主义角度看薇拉·凯瑟《啊，拓荒者

　　薇拉·凯瑟是二十世纪上半叶美国著名的女作家。1913年发表的《啊,拓荒者!》,和1918年发表的《我的安东妮亚》被认为是薇拉·凯瑟前期边疆小说的杰出代表。在这两部作品中,她以内布拉斯加草原为背景,描写了女主人公在大草原上与荒野作斗争、开拓土地、创建生活的经历。1923年凯瑟发表了中篇小说《一个迷途的女人》,并被认为是凯瑟后期较成功的作品之一。虽然小说的背景仍是内布拉斯加草原,但与前两部小说不同的是,凯瑟在这部作品中表达了昔日宁静的大草原在以东部文化为代表的现代工业文明面前,渐渐失去原有的价值。本文将从生态女性主义的角度探析《啊,拓荒者!》、《我的安东妮亚》和《一个迷途的女人》三部作品中隐含的“精神回归”的幻灭主题。在工业文明尚未到达之前,凯瑟高度赞扬了拓荒女性纯朴、高洁,并把西部边疆看作是人类精神的家园。然而随着现代工业文明不断地向西部草原发展,人与自然关系恶化。现代文明不断侵袭人的精神世界,最终导致精神家园丧失。全文共分为五部分。第一章主要介绍三部作品,生态女性主义有关理论。第二章分析《啊,拓荒者!》中的生态女性主义思想,通过分析得出文本中在以内布拉斯加草原为代表的西部草原上,人与自...
