《芒果街上的小屋》中女性身份的追寻

桑德拉·希斯内罗丝的成名作《芒果街上的小屋》挖掘了墨西哥裔移民在美国的生存状态,呈现出美国墨西哥裔移民对身份的追寻。遭遇文化身份错位的“奇哥娜”（美国墨西哥裔女性的总称）对自身身份感到困惑,面对两种文化,不知如何定位自己——既非墨西哥人又非美国人,沦为父权压迫与民族歧视下的双重边缘人,既无力反抗父权社会的压制,又不能摆脱种族歧视与文化排斥的伤害。论文通过运用文化批评理论分析“奇哥娜”女性在追寻身份过程中的困境,探讨族裔文化与主流文化的分离与渗透,少数族裔与白人主流的排斥与融合,“奇哥娜”的双重边缘地位以及一些“奇哥娜”社会地位的提高。本文以女主人公埃斯佩浪莎为主线,探讨埃斯佩浪莎成功走出芒果街,被主流社会认同,实现自我价值的原因,揭露主流社会与少数族裔之间的冲突与矛盾,分析“奇哥娜”所遭遇的自我身份构建与文化身份问题,力图找到在美国这个种族问题严重,民族众多的社会中面对强势文化冲击的少数族裔女性追寻身份,实现文化认同的方法与途径。论文通过分析指出遭遇身份危机的“奇哥娜”既要融入主流社会,与白人共同进步,又要心系本民族传统,保持自己的独立性与民族特性的原因与出路。一方面,少数族裔应通过适...
