从概念隐喻视角解读《简·爱》

《简·爱》是英国作家夏洛特·勃朗蒂广为人知的自传体小说,我们可以多角度对其分析。为了从概念隐喻视角进行探讨并追踪小说中的宗教寓意,本文首先简单介绍了小说的故事情节和传说中最具神奇色彩的勃朗蒂姐妹的家庭背景。作者夏洛特出生于牧师家庭,宗教教诲和仪规对她的影响是很明显的,我们可以从《简·爱》这部小说中人物向上帝做祷告的场景以及祷告语本身看出来,故而作者在创作该小说时竭力展示她自己对基督教的理解。自小说发表以来,各界对其研究甚久并提出了各种不同的研究视角和方法,因此我们只能有选择地介绍一些中外学者对《简·爱》的研究。为了运用概念隐喻来分析小说,首先我们检视了概念隐喻理论的主旨以及在政治,经济语篇中的应用。概念隐喻在近年的发展过程中,出现了一些新的理论,比如映射理论,整合理论等,这些新的理论从不同的角度对于概念隐喻的性质、功能和运作机制给予了解读。本文所研究的重点不在于评判这些理论孰优孰劣,而在于试图将概念隐喻理论的基本框架用于解读《简·爱》这部小说。《简·爱》是一部充满了矛盾和张力的小说,讲述的是一个孤女从一个受人欺凌的小孩逐步成长成人,接受教育,最后经历了爱情以及对宗教信仰的种种洗礼之后最...
