蒯因的不确定性论题与事实问题

【摘要】：翻译的不确定性与理论的不充分决定性是两种不同的不确定性论题,二者之间既有联系,又有区别。两种不确定性都是建立在整体主义基础之上的,都存在着逻辑上不相容,但经验上等价的不同系统。前者断言经验上等价的不同翻译系统不存在唯一正确的翻译手册,因为没有所谓意义这样的实体,不存在关于意义的事实问题;后者断言两种逻辑上不相容但经验上等价的理论系统不可能都是真的,这里存在事实问题,我们选择了一种理论,就意味着拒绝了另一种与之对立的理论。
[Abstract]:The uncertainty of translation and the inadequacies of theory are two different questions of uncertainty, which are related to and different from each other. Both uncertainties are based on holism and there are different systems that are logically incompatible but empirically equivalent. The former asserts that there is no only correct translation manual in different translation systems which are empirically equivalent because there is no such entity as meaning and there is no factual question about meaning. The latter asserts that two kinds of logically incompatible but empirically equivalent theoretical systems cannot be true. There is a factual problem here. If we choose one kind of theory, it means that we reject the other opposite theory.
