英文商法教材章节导言的话语分析

【摘要】:近年来, 教材话语分析越来越受到人们的关注, 而体裁分析也成为这一领域的重要研究手段。本文旨在采用 Bhatia 的体裁分析方法,结合元话语理论,对英文商法教材章节导言的层级结构和元话语使用特点进行尝试性的分析。 在文章、书的章节或者书中,通常有一部分内容用来向读者介绍这一文本,这就是所谓的文章、章节或者书的导言。Swales 和 Bhatia 采用体裁分析对学术性文章导言做了大量研究,并提出了各自的学术文章导言体裁结构。然而,人们却并没有对教材章节导言做足够的分析。 Kopple, Crismore 及其他学者对各种文本中使用的元话语做了大量的研究,发现元话语的使用能够帮助读者理解文本,从而有利于向非专业人士传授某一领域的专业知识。 参照 Bhatia 的体裁分析模式,以及 Kopple 的元话语分类系统,本论文提出了自己的分析框架,即从层级结构以及元话语特征这两个方面对教材章节导言进行分析。为了了解英文商法教材章节导言如何引导几乎没有任何专业知识的学生进入到商法知识世界,本文对本经典英文商法教材的所有章节导言从以上两个方面进行了详细的先行分析。分析表明,章节导言遵循一个三步骤结构模式,即提供背景知识、为提出章节内容作铺垫以及介绍章节内容。章节导言还采用了大量的元话语来组织文本,帮助读者理解文本内容。接着,从三十一本英文商法教材中选出五本,并进一步从五本书中选出五个章节,对其章节导言进行了后续分析,结果发现了与先行分析类似的结论。并进一步证明,在三步骤模式中,第一是必要步骤,第二步骤是可选步骤,第三步骤也是可选步骤,但出现频率非常高。元话语在组织文本,帮助读者理解文本内容和促进作者与读者互动等方面确实发挥着重要作用。
[Abstract]:In recent years, discourse analysis in textbooks has attracted more and more attention, and genre analysis has become an important research tool in this field. Based on Bhatia's genre analysis method and meta-discourse theory, this paper attempts to analyze the hierarchical structure of the introduction and the characteristics of meta-discourse use in English business law textbooks. In articles, chapters, or books, there is usually a part of the text that is used to introduce the text to the reader, which is the so-called article, chapter or introduction to the book. Swales and Bhatia have done a lot of research on the introduction to academic articles using genre analysis. And put forward their respective academic articles introduction genre structure. However, there is not enough analysis of the introduction to the textbook chapter. Kopple, Crismore and other scholars have done a lot of research on meta-discourses used in various texts, and found that the use of meta-discourses can help readers to understand the text, thus helping to impart professional knowledge in a certain field to non-professionals. Referring to Bhatia's genre analysis model and Kopple's meta-discourse classification system, this paper puts forward its own analysis framework, that is, the introduction to the textbook chapter from two aspects: hierarchical structure and meta-discourse features. In order to understand how the introduction to the chapters of the English Business Law textbook guides students who have little or no professional knowledge to enter the world of business law knowledge, This paper makes a detailed analysis of the introduction of all chapters of this classic English Commercial Law textbook from the above two aspects. The analysis shows that the introduction follows a three-step structure pattern, that is, providing background knowledge, laying the groundwork for proposing the content of the chapter and introducing the content of the chapter. Chapter introduction also uses a large number of meta-discourse to organize the text to help readers understand the content of the text. Then, five chapters are selected from 31 English commercial law textbooks, and five chapters are further selected from five books. A follow-up analysis of the introduction of the chapter is carried out, and a conclusion similar to that of the preceding analysis is found. It is further proved that the first step is the necessary step, the second step is optional step, and the third step is optional step in the three-step mode, but the frequency of occurrence is very high. Meta-discourse plays an important role in organizing the text, helping readers understand the content of the text and promoting the interaction between the author and the reader.
