萨摩亚政府治理与经济发展的关系

【摘要】：世界各国的经济学家和社会大众已经达成共识,认为政府治理是解释全球各国政府绩效差异的重要因素之一。本研究的核心问题有以下两个:(1)政府治理和经济发展之间是否存在相关性;(2)政府治理的哪个维度对经济发展的影响最大。根据全球治理指标,政府治理可以被划分为五个维度,包括发言权和政府问责、政治稳定性、政府有效性、法治和腐败控制。经济发展被界定为四个经济指标,包括国内生产总值、商品和服务价格、贸易差额和外国直接投资。本文从世界银行选取了萨摩亚1996-2014年间的相关数据,主要采用Spearman的秩相关检验和多元线性回归方法来检验假设和模型。研究发现在政府治理的五个指标中,只有腐败控制与经济发展在统计上呈显著正相关关系,其他四个指标都与经济发展呈负相关关系。另一方面,政治稳定性对经济发展的影响最大。根据研究结论,政府在探究如何提升其职能时应当更加关注其他几个指标。本文能够帮助政府认识国家现状并找到更多有效的方法来改善政府治理,以促进国家未来的良好发展。
[Abstract]:Economists around the world and the general public have reached a consensus, It is considered that government governance is one of the important factors to explain the differences in the performance of governments all over the world. The core questions in this study are as follows: 2: 1) is there a correlation between government governance and economic development? Economic development has the greatest impact. According to global governance indicators, Government governance can be divided into five dimensions, including voice and government accountability, political stability, government effectiveness, the rule of law and corruption control. Economic development is defined as four economic indicators, including gross domestic product. Prices of goods and services, trade balance and foreign direct investment. Spearman's rank correlation test and multivariate linear regression are used to test the hypothesis and model. It is found that only the corruption control and economic development are statistically significant positive correlation among the five government governance indicators. The other four indicators are negatively correlated with economic development. On the other hand, political stability has the greatest impact on economic development. In exploring how to improve its function, the government should pay more attention to other indicators. This paper can help the government to understand the current situation of the country and find more effective ways to improve government governance in order to promote the good development of the country in the future.
