上好大学值得吗——对大学质量回报的估计

【摘要】：国内现有研究大多关注大学教育数量的经济田报,较少关注大学教育质量的经济回报。由于存在不可观测的异质性和异质性回报,OLS、匹配法和工具变量法等方法都难以正确估计大学质量的回报。本文基于2004年中国城镇住户调查数据,以"211"大学作为中国高质量大学的标准,使用赫克曼等人建立的异质性模型,发现我国大学质量的平均回报率(ATE)为11,4%。这说明在中国,大学质量对劳动者的收入存在正面影响。研究还发现无论对于处理组还是非处理组,选择偏差均为负而分类收益均为正,表明个体基于比较优势自愿地做出了是否上"211"大学的选择。
[Abstract]:Most of the existing studies focus on the economic returns of the quantity of university education, and less on the economic returns of the quality of university education. Because of the unobservable heterogeneity and heterogeneity, it is difficult to estimate the return of university quality by OLS, matching method and tool variable method. Based on the data of Chinese urban household survey in 2004, using the "211" university as the standard of high quality universities in China and using the heterogeneity model established by Heckman et al., it is found that the average rate of return of university quality in China is 11% 4%. This shows that in China, university quality has a positive impact on the income of workers. The study also found that for both the treatment group and the non-treatment group, the selection deviation was negative and the classification benefit was positive, which indicated that the individual made the choice of whether to attend "211" university voluntarily based on comparative advantage.
