补偿理论在《乌龟教会了我们什么》翻译中的应用

　　英汉两种语言存在差异,因而翻译过程中不可避免地会出现语义、语法、文化层面的损失。根据夏廷德的翻译补偿理论,译者应针对文本类型和翻译目的,对翻译过程中潜在的或已发生的损失进行补偿,以此减少各种损失。显然,这是确保原文信息完整再现的必要手段。本文是对What the Tortoise Taught Us（《乌龟教会了我们什么》）节选部分进行的汉译实践报告。报告以翻译补偿为理论指导,从语言层面和文化层面探讨如何使用翻译补偿策略。在翻译实践中,基于翻译材料,译者分析了源语文本的特点,并且从语义、语法、文化三个层面归纳总结了文本中所存在的不可译因素。针对文本中的不可译因素,译者结合具体的翻译实践案例,提出了相对应的补偿策略。语义层面,为了弥补语义损失,译者采用了文本内注释和具体化策略。语法层面,译者通过增加时间副词和数词来弥补翻译过程中语法方面的损失。文化层面,译者使用了增译和文本外注释。通过这些策略,翻译过程中的损失得到了有效地补偿,原文信息也得以被准确地传达。
