关于新二代华裔学业成功影响因素的探索性研究

【摘要】:进入21世纪,美国作为多民族国家,各族裔人口比重继续不断变化,从2000年到2010年,亚裔人口增长最快,占人口增长比例的43.3%。华裔是亚裔美国人最主要的组成部分,华裔学生以学业优秀而著称。在美国标准学业测试和全国性学科竞赛中,华裔获奖比例远远超过其在全国人口中的比例。关于华裔学业表现的研究主要集中在20世纪八九十年代,但是大多数研究者从文化资本理论或社会结构理论出发研究问题。华裔学者周敏从分层同化理论出发,把孤立的文化资本理论和社会结构理论结合起来,综合分析新华裔二代在学业方面的成功因素。笔者在周敏研究基础上又提出华裔学生学业上的成功除了家庭和族裔的影响之外,,日益有利的教育社会大背景也促进了华裔学生学业上的成功。 论文首先从时间上界定新华裔二代,并比较新老华裔二代的不同之处,这种不同之处使本文的研究有了可能性。随后作者分析阐述了新华裔二代所处的有利家庭和族裔环境,这种有利环境促成了新华裔二代学业成功的内在因素。最后,本文又通过分析新华裔二代所受教育的社会大背景,说明了日益公平的教育社会大背景也促成了华裔学业的成功,并且作者更进一步指出华裔教育成功背后所面临的教育问题,这些存在的问题仍需要进一步的努力解决。 通过本文的写作,笔者分析了新华裔二代所处的教育背景,通过对华裔特殊家庭环境,族裔环境和美国教育大背景的分析,试图找出促成新华裔二代学业成功的因素。希望通过对这些学业促成因素的分析,能给华裔父母在子女的教育方面带来启示,给现阶段中国教育带来一点思考。
[Abstract]:In 21th century, as a multi-ethnic country, the proportion of people of all ethnic groups in the United States continues to change. From 2000 to 2010, the Asian population grew fastest, accounting for 43.3 percent of the population growth. Chinese Americans are the most important component of Asian-Americans. Chinese students are known for their academic excellence. In American standard academic tests and national disciplinary competitions, The proportion of Chinese-Americans winning prizes far exceeds their share in the national population. Studies on the academic performance of ethnic Chinese were concentrated in the 1980s and 1990s in 20th century. However, most researchers study problems from the perspective of cultural capital theory or social structure theory. Zhou Min, a Chinese scholar, combines the isolated theory of cultural capital with the theory of social structure from the perspective of stratified assimilation. On the basis of Zhou Min's research, the author points out that the academic success of Chinese students is not only the influence of family and ethnicity, but also the influence of family and ethnicity. The increasingly favorable educational and social background also promotes the academic success of Chinese-American students. Firstly, the paper defines the second generation of new Chinese in time, and compares the differences between the old and the new. This difference makes the study possible. Then the author analyzes and expounds the favorable family and ethnic environment of the second generation. This kind of favorable environment has contributed to the internal factors of the academic success of the second generation of Chinese New Chinese. Finally, by analyzing the social background of the education received by the second generation of the new Chinese, this paper shows that the increasingly fair social background of education also contributes to the success of Chinese studies. Furthermore, the author points out the educational problems behind the success of Chinese education, and these problems still need to be solved. Through the writing of this paper, the author analyzes the educational background of the second generation of New Chinese, and analyzes the special family environment, ethnic environment and American educational background. This paper tries to find out the factors that contribute to the academic success of the second generation of Chinese New Chinese and hopes that the analysis of these factors can enlighten Chinese parents in the education of their children and bring some thoughts to the present Chinese education.
