美国文理学院通识教育发展与实施现状研究

【摘要】：在美国现有的高等教育体系中，文理学院处于研究型大学与社区学院的中间层次。它恪守传统，又不失时代之气，在“大学”（university）的时代坚持“学院理想”（collegeideal），凭借其鲜明的博雅教育哲学独树一帜，在激烈的教育市场竞争中立于不败之地，成为美国精英高等教育的楷模。为什么文理学院能经过300年的发展坚持至今，又在当今激烈的市场竞争机制下把教育办得有声有色，这与美国文理学院优质的通识教育开展实施是分不开的。本研究主体分三大部分进行，第一部分回顾文理学院的发展历史与文理学院通识教育的发展过程。将文理学院置于美国高等教育发展的历史之中，并将其与美国其他类型的大学进行对比分析，，探求文理学院为何能在大学改革的浪潮中立足并成为美国高等教育中特色鲜明的精英本科教育机构。第二部分利用个案分析具体分析美国文理学院通识教育这一人才培养模式。威廉姆斯学院(Williams College)是美国顶尖的文理学院，全美排名多年来一直在前三名。选择它作为案例剖析，通过对威廉姆斯学院教育理念、课程体系、课程实施等方面进行具体深入地分析，更细致地对美国文理学院的优质通识教育进行深入研究。第三部分是美国文理学院对中国高等教育通识教育发展的借鉴作用，通过对美国文理学院通识教育这一人才培养模式的研究，分析与总结文理学院在通识教育领域内的先进理念、通识教育课程体系及通识教育的实施情况，从中汲取有益的经验，为我国高校通识教育的发展提供借鉴作用。最后是全文小结，对美国文理学院的总体情况作深化总结。
[Abstract]:In the current higher education system in the United States, the College of Arts and Sciences is in the middle level of research universities and community colleges. It adheres to the tradition without losing the spirit of the times. In the era of "University", it adheres to the "college ideal" and stands in an invincible position in the fierce education market competition by virtue of its distinctive philosophy of liberal and elegant education. To become a model for American elite higher education. Why the College of Arts and Sciences can persist through 300 years of development so far, and now run education in the fierce market competition mechanism, this is inseparable from the American College of Arts and Science to carry out the implementation of high-quality general education. The main body of this study is divided into three parts. The first part reviews the history of the development of the College of Arts and Science and the development process of general education in the College of Arts and Science. Put the College of Arts and Sciences in the history of the development of higher education in the United States, and compare it with other types of universities in the United States. To explore why the College of Arts and Sciences can be established in the tide of university reform and become an elite undergraduate education institution with distinctive characteristics in American higher education. The second part makes use of the case study to analyze the general education model of the American College of Arts and Sciences. Williams College is one of the top liberal arts schools in the United States and has been in the top three for years. Choose it as a case study, through the Williams College education concept, curriculum system, curriculum implementation and other aspects of a specific in-depth analysis, more detailed American College of Arts and Sciences quality general education in-depth study. The third part is the reference role of the American College of Arts and Sciences to the development of Chinese higher education, through the study of the American College of Arts and Sciences, the general education, this talent training model. This paper analyzes and summarizes the advanced ideas in the field of general education, the curriculum system of general education and the implementation of general education in the College of Arts and Sciences, and draws useful experience from them, which provides a reference for the development of general education in colleges and universities in China. Finally, the paper summarizes the overall situation of the American College of Arts and Sciences.
