早期种子植物基因组演化模式研究

基因组的演化在很大程度上受到转座子(transposable element,TE)活动的影响。转座子的活跃事件不可避免的会产生有害突变,进而影响基因组的稳定性。生物体为了应对转座子的变化,建立了一系列的调控机制,如DNA甲基化,能够特异性的在沉默转座子的活性种子植物的基因组在大小差异巨大,裸子植物基因组普遍偏大,而买麻藤类植物作为裸子植物中的分支,因表型分化差异与其他种子植物相比与众不同,基因组大小也并非裸子植物的典型代表因此,我们以买麻藤类植物,特别是百岁兰为研究对象,试图分析早期种子植物基因组进化模式。。此前,裸子植物基因组被认为均与松科植物挪威云杉基因组(20Gb)类似:具有超大的DNA含量,基因组由于缺乏有效的转座子消除机而缓慢积累。然而买麻藤基因组测序结果表明其基因组较小(4.1 Gb),TE删除率较高(非完整LTR/完整LTR=2.07:1)。为了进一步比较基因组大小演化和甲基化调控之间的关系,以更好地理解买麻藤类植物分支和种子植物祖先,我们扩大了样本量,又研究了另一种买麻藤类植物——百岁兰,一种单科单属单种的多年生沙漠植物。百岁兰基因组显示出了独有的特征:7Gb基因组包...
