【摘要】：历史乡村地理是研究历史时期乡村地区的经济、社会、人口、聚落、文化、资源利用及环境问题的空间变化的学科,是历史人文地理学的分支学科之一,其研究目的是总结历史时期乡村地域系统内部诸要素之间及与外部地域系统之间的相互关系和作用规律,为现实乡村建设和和谐发展服务。历史乡村地理学既不是一般的部门历史地理学,也不是一般的区域历史地理学,而是一门区域性和综合性很强的历史人文地理学分支。无论从乡村在我国历史发展过程中的重要地位来说,还是从当前推进社会主义新农村建设的需要和历史地理学科的整体建设需要来说,历史乡村地理的研究都必不可少,大有作为。
