【摘要】：19世纪末期詹姆森袭击事件是导致英布战争爆发的直接原因。詹姆森袭击事件的爆发是由多方面因素造成,本文拟从当时的国际背景出发,对詹姆森袭击事件进行全面的分析。詹姆森袭击事件的幕后策划者是19世纪末期英国著名的殖民者塞西尔·罗得斯。他在19世纪末攫取贝专纳兰、打通大北通路和获得英政府委任状,组建了英国南非公司并最终占领马绍纳兰、马塔贝莱兰建立罗得西亚殖民地,这对于完成罗得斯的“二C”计划具有至关重要的作用。但是罗得斯也面临着一个巨大的问题：即克鲁格所统治的德兰士瓦共和国正日益成为其北上的绊脚石,因此阴谋推翻克鲁格统治的“詹姆森袭击”事件也由此提上了日程。如何从一次袭击事件窥视出其历史的价值,这是本文试图达到的目的。从詹姆森袭击事件的策划、进行到结果,无不向读者透露了一个重要的信息：詹姆森袭击事件是欧洲各殖民利益相冲突的直接结果。本文不打算对殖民主义进行深究,但是,通过对个案的研究对于宏观层面的殖民主义还是有补充价值的。詹姆森袭击事件特别是对英布战争有直接的推动作用,而英布战争被称之为是“帝国主义之间的战争”,由此,我们也可以通过对詹姆森袭击事件的全面研究与分析,来了解帝国主义时期欧洲对殖民地政策的变化以及影响。对詹姆森袭击事件的评价也关系到能否正确认识事件的性质。从袭击双方来看,本质是殖民地之间的冲突,因此对于非洲人来说,双方都是殖民主义行为。尽管如此,詹姆森袭击事件间接地起了一个促进南部非洲历史进程发生转变的助推器的作用。
