[Abstract]:The two crises in the Taiwan Strait in the 1950s were, on the surface, a military confrontation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and in essence a severe confrontation between China and the United States. China and the United States were on the brink of war during the crisis, but policy makers in both countries were reluctant to fight each other again on the basis of overall interests. In order to avoid the direct military conflict and understand the other side's bottom line in the crisis, the information game without "gunsmoke" has become an important platform for the struggle between China and the United States. During the rumble of gunfire during the crisis, both sides released a large amount of information through various channels, and read and analyzed the other party's information in a rational and meticulous way. In turn, effective control of the situation played an important role. This paper attempts to use the concept of information dissemination to broaden the perspective of historical research, and to make a preliminary analysis of the information game between China and the United States during the two Taiwan Strait crises.
