[Abstract]:This paper focuses on the social environment, the organizational structure and the general characteristics of the management and management of the banking industry in the Middle Ages, taking the European banking industry from the 13th to the 15th century as the object of study. Furthermore, the relationship between these characteristics and the unique social environment in the Middle Ages is investigated. On the basis of these studies, the paper also tries to analyze the banking industry, the emerging financial and economic power of the Middle Ages, and the traditional political system (such as the Church). The interaction between the feudal rulers of all levels and the Italian cities and countries was preliminarily combed to illustrate the unique role played by banks and bankers in the process of the transformation of these political systems from tradition to modern times. On the other hand, the thesis also studies the great social change from the Middle Ages to the modern society and the influence of the overall economic situation in the late Middle Ages on the banking industry itself. Under the circumstances of the change of the overall situation, the characteristics of the organization structure and management mode of the banking industry in the Middle Ages have restricted its adaptation to the new environment. Specifically, the structure of this paper is as follows: the first chapter discusses the social environment of the banking industry in the Middle Ages. The complicated and chaotic coin system in the Middle Ages and the characteristics of the internationalization of the market trade provided the necessary conditions for the emergence of this class of professional merchants. The further development of market trade, the formation of international money market and the progress of bookkeeping technology promoted the expansion of business functions and scope of coin changers, and eventually developed into bankers. The second chapter focuses on the characteristics of medieval banking management and its relationship with the unique social environment in the Middle Ages. The family management mode, diversification and internationalization of the banking industry in the Middle Ages are all the embodiment of the unique family thinking mode, the risk of doing business and the internationalization of the commodity trade in the Middle Ages. The third chapter discusses the relationship between the bank and the king, the bank and the church, and the bank and the city. On the one hand, bankers provide them with loans to help them tide over difficulties; on the other hand, by actively participating in political forms of borrowing, bankers can not only obtain monopoly profits, but also improve their social status. The fourth chapter is based on the third chapter, in turn investigates the process of transition and the change of the overall economic situation on the medieval banking industry: banking excessive involvement in political forms of borrowing led to the decline of medieval banking. At the same time, the deterioration of the economic environment in the late Middle Ages also exposed the shortcomings in the internal management of banks, which contributed to the decline of private banking in the Middle Ages and the attempts to set up public banking in various places.
