基于需求分析的大学英语自主学习中心学习材料构建的研究

【摘要】:伴随着终身学习和自主学习理念的产物—语言自主学习中心在各个高校的相继建立,国内外就语言自主学习中心在提高学习者自主学习能力和培养学习者学习策略方面的研究层出不穷。语言自主学习材料,即语言自主学习中心英语学习软件中所提供的学习材料,作为语言自主学习中心的重要组成部分,在整个自主学习体系中起着举足轻重的作用,其合理设置直接关乎英语学习者的学习自觉性和主动性。而学习者的语言学习需求,是语言自主学习中心学习材料建设与发展的首要考虑因素。综合国内外的相关研究现状,需求分析仍主要运用于探究大学英语以及专门用途英语教学过程中的课程设置与教学方法,并未真正应用到语言自主学习中心学习材料构建中。同时,语言自主学习中心学习材料相关研究,多数从理论思辨的角度论述合理设置学习材料的方法,即根据学习者的学习动机,偏好的学习方式等来设计和选择学习材料,但尚缺乏较为系统的实证研究的支撑。 本研究运用定量研究和定性研究相结合的方法,通过探究英语学习者的学习需求并结合对自主学习中心现有学习材料的评估结果,旨在为自主学习中心学习材料的进一步完善提出一些参考性建议。研究主要围绕以下几个方面展开:(1)大学英语学习者在自主学习中心的英语学习需求,即学习动机、学习策略以及语言技能需求;(2)学习者对自主学习中心现有学习材料的满意度以及相关因素分析;(3)如何根据学习需求与满意度来合理构建自主学习中心学习材料,以及学习者对学习材料的期望和建议。 通过对某受试大学2012级六个班级(其中三个班级学生来自大学英语新视野学习平台另外三个班级学生来自新理念学习平台)共242名学习者进行问卷调查。问卷内容包括:学习者个人基本信息,学习者英语学习需求,自主学习中心学习材料评估,并通过SPSS13.0对其中220份有效调查问卷进行分析,结合对其中六名受试(I1,I2和I3来自新理念学习平台,I4,I5,I6来自新视野学习平台)的访谈数据结果,进一步为问卷数据分析结果提供相关依据,并最终探讨本研究的研究问题。 研究发现:(1)大部分学习者能够按照学校课程要求自觉主动参与自主中心学习平台的学习。英语学习需求分析结果表明,大学英语学习者以考试成绩为导向的外部英语学习动机明显强于真正由兴趣驱动的内部动机;在英语学习的过程中,学习者所进行输入型的语言练习明显多于语言输出练习;与此同时,学习者也反映目前其最为欠缺的英语学习技能主要体现在产出型语言技能—英语口语和英文写作。(2)通过对自主学习中心现有学习材料的评估发现,,新视野相对新理念更加完善,但是学习者对两个学习平台所提供的学习材料的总体满意度不高。从材料的合适度上看,主要体现在:真实语言材料数量不足,学习材料并未根据学习者英语语言水平进行明确的分级,口语和写作练习材料内容不够丰富;在学习材料的质量上,材料设计和呈现方式不够新颖和形象,对学习者吸引力不足,不能完全满足学习者提高语言水平的愿望,而且材料的更新不够及时。(3)访谈结果再次证实了学习者想要提高产出性英语能力的愿望并且希望材料的选取能够更加有针对性,多提供一些相关知识的扩展和背景介绍,同时学习者也有愿望积极参与到学习材料的构建中,为材料的维护、更新等提供参考意见。
[Abstract]:With the product of lifelong learning and autonomous learning concept of autonomous language learning center in various colleges and universities have been established, the domestic and foreign language autonomous learning center in improving learners' autonomous learning ability and cultivate learners' learning strategies. The study emerge in an endless stream autonomous language learning materials, namely autonomous language learning center provides the software in English learning learning materials, as an important part of autonomous language learning center, plays an important role in the whole autonomous learning system, the reasonable setting of learning consciousness and initiative is directly related to English learners. Learners' language learning needs is the primary consideration of autonomous language learning center construction and development of learning material factors. The related research status at home and abroad, the demand analysis is mainly used in the investigation of College English and ESP Teaching The curriculum and teaching methods in the process, has not really applied to the autonomous language learning center of learning materials in the construction. At the same time, autonomous language learning research materials learning center, most from the theories and discusses the methods of learning materials is rationally arranged according to the learning motivation, learning style preference to design and selection learning materials, but there is still a lack of systematic empirical research support.
This research uses the method of quantitative and qualitative research, through the research on English learners' needs and the combination of the existing learning materials of autonomous learning center evaluation results, to further improve the learning materials for Autonomous Learning Center offers some suggestions. The research mainly focuses on the following aspects: (1) College English learning in the autonomous learning center of English learning needs, learning motivation, learning strategies and language skills requirements; (2) analysis of learner satisfaction of existing learning materials, autonomous learning center and related factors; (3) according to the learning needs and satisfaction to the reasonable construction of autonomous learning center learning materials, and learners of learning materials the expectations and suggestions.
Through the test of grade 2012 six classes (three classes of students from New Horizon College English in three classes of students from the new concept of learning platform learning platform) conducted a questionnaire survey of 242 students. The contents of the questionnaire include: learning the basic personal information, learning English learning needs, autonomous learning center through the analysis and assessment of learning materials, SPSS13.0 of which 220 valid questionnaires, the combination of the six subjects (I1, I2 and I3 from the new concept of learning platform, I4, I5, I6 from the new view of learning platform) interview results, for further data analysis of the questionnaire results provide relevant evidence, and ultimately a study on the problem of this study.
The study found that: (1) the majority of the students according to the school curriculum requirements of the initiative to participate in independent center learning platform. English learning needs analysis shows that college English learners in examination oriented English learning motivation is significantly stronger than the external real interest driven by internal motivation; in the process of English learning, learning the input type of language practice than language output practice; meanwhile, learners also reflect the current lack of the skill of English learning is mainly reflected in the output language skills - English speaking and writing English. (2) through the assessment of existing learning materials Learning Center found that a new vision is relatively new concept more perfect, but the overall satisfaction of learners to provide two learning platform materials is not high. From the material to the appropriate degree of view, the main body now In: the quantity of authentic language materials, learning materials are not clearly classified according to English language learners, oral English and writing material content is not abundant enough; the quality of learning materials, materials design and presentation and not enough new image, lack of attraction to the learner, can not fully meet the learners to improve their language level of desire moreover, the material is not updated in a timely manner. (3) the results of the interview confirmed that the learners want to improve the output of English ability desire and hope that the selection of materials can be more targeted, more to provide some expansion of knowledge and background, at the same time, learners have a wish to participate actively in the construction of learning materials.
