[Abstract]:Emotion-tagging (affect labeling) refers to the use of emotion words to describe emotional stimuli or emotions induced by them. According to the blocking theory (disruption theory), introspection of emotion can inhibit implicit or automatic emotional response, and then show inhibition of emotion, which emphasizes that emotion words that can cause people to reflect on these processes of emotion can suppress emotion, whereas the other way around, You can't suppress your emotions. Compared with the use of emotive adjectives (such as anger, pleasure), the use of emotional nouns (such as spiders, flowers) does not directly cause people to reflect on their emotions. According to this theory, it can be inferred that tagging with emotional nouns can not suppress emotion. Based on the previous researches on emotional tagging, this study investigates the effect of emotive nouns on positive and negative emotions by using emotive nouns as tagging words. Therefore, the purpose of this study is: (1) to explore whether the use of emotive nouns can suppress emotion; (2) the dynamic change process of emotional intensity when tagging with emotional nouns. In this study, the classic emotional tagging paradigm and event-related potentials with high time accuracy were used to analyze the LPP amplitude of college students in the process of emotive noun tagging. To reveal whether the use of emotive nouns can suppress emotions. The experimental materials were selected from the international emotional picture system (IAPS) and the Chinese emotional material image system (CAPS). In this experiment, 15 college students were enrolled in this study. The subjects were designed with 2 (emotion type: positive, negative) 脳 2 (tagging type: emotional tagging, non-emotional tagging). The behavioral data and LPP amplitude in emotional judgment stage and LPP amplitude in naming stage were recorded. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the amplitude of LPP between emotional tagging and non-emotional tagging tasks in negative emotions, while in positive emotions, the LPP amplitude of emotion-tagging was significantly lower than that of non-emotion-tagged LPP. In the naming stage, the LPP amplitude of emotion-tagging tasks was higher than that of non-emotion-tagged tasks, both positive and negative. Conclusion: emotional nouns are used to label: (1) for positive emotions, emotion is restrained in the stage of emotional judgment, and then enhanced in the naming stage; (2) for the negative emotion, there was no obvious effect on the emotion in the judgment stage, but the emotion was enhanced after naming; (3) the enhancement process of both positive and negative emotions occurred after the naming of the emotion.
