【摘要】:东吴大学学生社团伴随着学校的产生而存在,在东吴大学50多年的办学历程中,学生社团经历了兴起与发展(1901-1921)、受挫与复苏(1922-1927)、振兴与繁荣(1928-1937)、变动与延续(1938-1945)、重建与消亡(1946-1952)五个阶段的发展演变。因社会环境不断变化,各个时期学生社团数量消长、类型、性质、结构、活动内容等也有着显著的变化。学生社团从最初模仿西方高校,向本土化与自主化方向发展;学生社团类型从辩论、宗教类等社团向学术、联谊类等社团扩展;学校对学生社团的管理由最初的放任向引导、控制转变。东吴大学学生社团大体上可以分为文艺、体育、学术、联谊、宗教、自治等类型。由于其所处的特定环境,东吴大学学生社团呈现出了自主性、多元性及教师深度参与的特点。自主性是东吴大学学生自治、独立意识不断成熟的结果,受中西文化碰撞、五四运动启迪的影响,东吴大学学生社团呈现了社团组建自主、管理有序、活动开展独立的特点。多元性则是东吴大学中西文化并重、通识教育办学理念和校园自由、民主氛围熏陶的结果,呈现出社团数量众多、类型多样的特点。在基督教教育理念的内在驱动下、强化学生管理的制度推动下、学校环境和自身素质保障的前提下,广泛教师深度参与学生社团活动,切实发挥了指导与顾问的作用,赢得了学生的好评。学生社团在东吴大学的办学历程中发挥了积极作用,成为了学校第二课堂建设、培养学生社会责任感、构建校园文化、促进人才培养的主要平台。同时,东吴大学学生社团在近代中国高校体育事业、近代中国话剧事业、校园学术刊物编辑上取得了显著的成就,并成为了近代中国大学学生社团的先行者,凸显了东吴大学学生社团在中国高校学生社团发展史上的成就与影响。历史可为今日之借鉴。东吴大学学生社团在学校认同感形成、爱国主义教育、学生社团管理与建设等方面,给我们诸多有益的启示。
