论电影《喜福会》中的中国形象

【摘要】:由王颖执导,改编自谭恩美的同名畅销小说电影《喜福会》于1993年在美国上映,并取得巨大成功。影片中的中国是一副灾难重重的景象,人们似乎永远厄运缠身,,尤其是中国女人。本文试图分析电影中中国形象的建构及其成因,预期得出以下结论:电影中呈现的他者化的中国形象是受到历史上美国民众对中国形象的集体想象和作家谭恩美独特的个人经历和中国渊源的影响而建构而成的。 本论文共由五部分构成。第一部分简要介绍了本论文的论点、文献综述、论文的新意、研究的意义以及论文的结构。第二部分为第一章,通过语词和故事情节塑造的中国人物的刻板形象。论文分析并考察了影片中各色中国人物的言辞和遭遇,指出电影中所呈现的中国人物形象是一种刻板的陈腐的人物形象。第三部分为第二章,论文分析了剧中场景,揭露了影片中呈现的异域化中国形象并考察了其历史渊源。第四部分为第三章,论文考察了影片中折射出的扭曲的中国文化,探析了其建构过程及文化成因。第五部分对电影呈现的中国形象、其构成以及成因进行总结并得出结论:电影中呈现出的落后、异域、他者化的中国形象的形成受到了历史、个人及文化等多重因素的共同影响,旨在符合并满足美国民众对中国文化的集体想象。
[Abstract]:Directed by Wang Ying and adapted from Amy Tan's best-selling novel, the Joy Luck Club, was released in the United States in 1993 with great success. China in the film is a disaster-ridden scene, people seem to be doomed forever, especially Chinese women. This paper attempts to analyze the construction of Chinese film image and its causes. It is expected to draw the following conclusions: the Chinese image presented in the film is constructed by the collective imagination of the American people on the Chinese image in history and the influence of the writer Amy Tan's unique personal experience and Chinese origin. This thesis consists of five parts. The first part briefly introduces the arguments, literature review, new ideas, significance and structure of the paper. The second part is the first chapter, through the words and the story plot portrays the Chinese character stereotype image. This paper analyzes and examines the words and experiences of Chinese characters of all kinds in the film, and points out that the Chinese characters presented in the films are stereotypical and stale characters. The third part is the second chapter, the thesis analyzes the scene of the play, exposes the exotic Chinese image in the film and examines its historical origin. The fourth part is the third chapter, the thesis examines the distorted Chinese culture reflected in the film, analyzes its construction process and cultural causes. The fifth part summarizes the Chinese image presented by the film, its composition and causes, and draws the conclusion that the formation of the Chinese image of the film, which is backward, exotic and other-oriented, has been history. The combined influence of individual and cultural factors is designed to meet and satisfy the collective imagination of American people about Chinese culture.
