[Abstract]:A new branch of critical discourse analysis began in the late 1970s language: critical linguistics. CDA researchers believe that discourse is with ideological meaning in the language of choice, so they are committed to the relationship between language and reveal the hidden ideology and ideology. Nowadays, more and more critical discourse analysis the analysis of critical media discourse showed a keen interest in news discourse and becomes an important example. This paper makes a detailed analysis of the news discourse between China and the United States in two newspapers, effect reveals the hidden ideology in news discourse and on people's attitudes and cognition, in order to provide some enlightenment for the China news media to enhance their influence.
The 3D model based on Phil Klau's theory of mass communication, systemic functional linguistics and Lippmann Hallidy, this paper selects the < > and < > Chinese daily in the New York Times ten articles on RMB appreciation reports were critical discourse analysis, and both of them are compared, in order to confirm the news discourse from the two newspapers the main difference in the performance of the discourse and reveal the hidden ideology. This study is divided into three steps: description, interpretation and explanation. At the stage of description, the author from the news discourse of the selected word choice of transitivity and modality analysis of three aspects; in the stage of interpretation, the author makes a research on the the selected news reports from news sources and reports, as well as Pseudo Environment and stereotypes influence on people's cognitive perspective; in the stage of explanation, the author from the specific situation of system. The three aspects of the social and cultural environment explain the environmental factors that affect the ideology of the news discourse.
The research results generally consistent and discourse analysis in the past, but the study found that, in the choice of vocabulary, there are obvious differences between modality and news from three aspects: first, second newspapers tend to use different words to describe the RMB exchange rate to Chinese and two for the appreciation of the RMB second, from the modal attitude; point of view, the New York Times < > in the news discourse is relatively more flexible use of high value and low value modal verbs, which makes the tone of its news both tough and soft, and "news discourse China journal in tendency to use more median modal verbs; third, second newspapers tend to choose most can support their views and positions of news sources. These differences suggest that economic news discourse is not absolutely fair, objective, they were more or less with the specific ideology Significance.
The importance of this study is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: first, this study further expands the research scope of CDA. Critical discourse analysis traditionally focuses on political issues, research and rarely involve in economic news ideology, and so far, there is no systematic on the renminbi appreciation a study of the ideology of economic events; secondly, this research shows that to study the different media on the same news reports both applicable and effective use of the comparative method. Through the comparison of the United States in their respective representative newspaper < > and < > Chinese daily New York Times for related reports of RMB appreciation event, revealing the performance of different news discourse in the news reports of different ideologies; third, this study shows that, in order to avoid hidden foreign news reports The influence of ideology or misleading, the reader must improve their critical awareness in news reading process; in addition, offer some inspiration to the research results of this paper are to Chinese news media: Chinese news media should pay more attention to the rationality of extensive and in-depth awareness of their own policies and policies in the international arena, to show the international community out loud his strong voice.
