信息与精炼：《古典家具收藏与投资》的翻译

【摘要】："A picture is worth a thousand words"(一幅图片胜似千言万语)一语是英美新闻界专业人士信奉的教条。专业的图片说明可确保这千言万语所传达的信息凝练、精准、高效。《古典家具收藏与投资》一书通过图片及文字说明向读者详细介绍古典家具的年代、材质、外形、花纹、结构特征和用途等。在翻译该书中图片说明时,译者必须注意功能文体,必须熟悉原文文体的语言特征及审美特征,才能在翻译中顺应原文的需要,做到量体裁衣,使译文文体与原文文体相应。本文首先分析原文本文体特征,包括词汇特征及句式特征两部分。词汇特征部分介绍了该书中大量出现的专业术语及四字结构。句式特征部分介绍了该书中句式精准与句式精炼两大特征。信息优先原则及精炼原则是从本书翻译实践中总结得出的,立足于准确翻译出原文专业术语及四字表达与精炼译文句式表达。信息优先原则及精炼原则的提出是考虑到出版时的版面限制,故译文必须行文精炼简洁。基于以上翻译原则,结合翻译实践,本文就书中词汇翻译及句式翻译提出了具体且行之有效的翻译方法,亦即省略和合并法。
[Abstract]:The phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words" is the dogma of the British and American press professionals.Professional picture description can ensure that the information conveyed in thousands of words is concise, accurate and efficient. The book "Collection and Investment of Classical Furniture" introduces to the reader the age, material, shape, pattern of classical furniture through pictures and text instructions.Structural characteristics and uses, etc.In translation, the translator must pay attention to the functional style, be familiar with the linguistic and aesthetic features of the original style, and adapt to the needs of the original text in order to adapt to the needs of the original text, so as to make the translation style correspond to the original style.This paper first analyzes the stylistic features of the original text, including lexical features and sentence features.The lexical features part introduces a large number of specialized terms and four-character structure in the book.In the part of sentence features, the author introduces two main features of sentence precision and sentence refinement in the book.The principle of information priority and refinement is derived from the translation practice of this book, which is based on the accurate translation of the original technical terms and four-character expressions and refined sentence expressions.The principle of information priority and refinement is put forward in view of the layout limitation at the time of publication, so the translation must be concise and concise.Based on the above translation principles and combined with translation practice, this paper proposes specific and effective translation methods for lexical translation and sentence translation in the book, that is, ellipsis and combination.
