汉语中“宣传”概念的起源与意义变迁

【摘要】:汉语中"宣传"概念的起源是一个几乎很少被严肃研究过的问题。本文通过语言学和传播观念史两个维度对汉语中"宣传"概念的产生、翻译和意义变迁进行了考察。本文发现,现代汉语中的"宣传"是外来词,与古代的"宣传"概念无直接关系。Propaganda一词最早被西方传教士翻译成"宣传",后流传到日本,再被中国留日学生又重新传回中国。但在这个过程中,宣传的意义已经发生了变化。宣传在中国近现代一直具有正面意义,近年来中国官方注意到宣传所对应的propaganda的负面含义,试图将二者剥离开,用其他的英语概念来翻译汉语中的"宣传"一词。
[Abstract]:The origin of the concept of "propaganda" in Chinese is an issue that has rarely been seriously studied. This paper examines the emergence, translation and meaning change of the concept of "propaganda" in Chinese from the perspectives of linguistics and history of communication ideas. This paper finds that "propaganda" in modern Chinese is a loanword, which has no direct relationship with the concept of "propaganda" in ancient times. The word Propaganda was first translated into "propaganda" by western missionaries, then spread to Japan, then passed back to China by Chinese students studying in Japan. But in the process, the meaning of propaganda has changed. Propaganda has always been of positive significance in modern China. In recent years, Chinese authorities have noticed the negative meaning of propaganda, and tried to separate the two and use other English concepts to translate the word "propaganda" in Chinese.
