WISH虚拟语气的语义生成机制及人际功能研究

【摘要】：本文从概念整合以及人际隐喻的角度分析了WISH虚拟语气。Fauconnier提出的概念整合理论在很多领域显示出了其强大的解释力,以往的研究者常常从概念整合理论的角度研究IF虚拟语气的语义生成机制,系统研究WISH虚拟语气的研究较少；人际隐喻是系统功能语法的核心概念之一,通过人际隐喻来分析WISH虚拟语气人际功能的研究就更少了。因此本论文基于COCA数据库将这两个理论结合起来系统分析WISH虚拟语气。在具体分析之前,先从COCA数据库中搜索WISH虚拟语气,而后将其分成两类：一类WISH虚拟语气中含有两个明显不同的对比对象；另一类WISH虚拟语气中涉及同一个对比对象。本论文通过画出WISH虚拟语气的概念整合网络图,探讨了虚拟语气的语义生成机制。由于“wish"表示说话者希望事件发生的愿望,尽管事件发生的可能性很小,但还是涉及到事件发生的可能性;同时"wish"引导的虚拟语气运用了语法隐喻中的人际隐喻。因而,本论文从人际隐喻的角度分析了WISH虚拟语气在不同语境中的人际功能。通过分析发现,WISH虚拟语气可以分成两类。不同类别的概念整合网络都具有其各自的特点。另外,WISH虚拟语气除了能表达强烈的愿望以外,该论文还发现在不同的语境下,也能表达不同的深层含义。不同于以往的研究,本文同时运用了两个领域的理论来分析WISH虚拟语气,这一方面符合语言学的发展趋势,另一方面也有助于更系统地分析和理解WISH虚拟语气。同时,这一分析对学习者理解并掌握WISH虚拟语气有一定的帮助。本文最后列举了本研究的一些缺陷,诸如,在本文出现的例子都是来自于COCA数据库,很难包括所有的WISH虚拟语气的种类,另外本文对WISH虚拟语气的分类方法需要测试是否适合于其他种类的虚拟语气。同时还提出了以后虚拟语气研究的一些建议,可以运用概念整合理论和人际隐喻尝试系统地分析其他数据库,小说,戏剧或是文学作品中的虚拟语气。
[Abstract]:From the perspective of conceptual integration and interpersonal metaphor, this paper analyzes the conceptual integration theory proposed by WISH subjunctive mood. Fauconnier shows its strong explanatory power in many fields. In the past, researchers often studied the semantic generation mechanism of if subjunctive mood from the perspective of conceptual integration theory, but the systematic study of WISH subjunctive mood is less. Interpersonal metaphor is one of the core concepts of systemic functional grammar. There is less research on the interpersonal function of WISH subjunctive mood through interpersonal metaphor. Therefore, this paper combines these two theories based on COCA database to analyze WISH subjunctive mood systematically. Before the concrete analysis, the subjunctive mood of WISH is searched from COCA database and then divided into two categories: one kind of WISH subjunctive mood contains two distinct contrast objects, the other kind of WISH subjunctive mood involves the same contrast object. By drawing the conceptual integration network diagram of WISH subjunctive mood, this paper discusses the semantic generation mechanism of subjunctive mood. Because "wish" indicates the speaker's desire for the event to happen, although the possibility of the event is very small, it still involves the possibility of the event. At the same time, the subjunctive mood guided by "wish" uses interpersonal metaphor in grammatical metaphor. Therefore, this thesis analyzes the interpersonal functions of WISH subjunctive mood in different contexts from the perspective of interpersonal metaphor. It is found that the subjunctive mood of fish can be divided into two categories. Different types of conceptual integration networks have their own characteristics. In addition, the subjunctive mood of wise can not only express strong wishes, but also find that in different contexts, it can also express different deep meanings. Different from previous studies, this paper uses two theories to analyze WISH subjunctive mood, which is in line with the development trend of linguistics, on the other hand, it is helpful to analyze and understand WISH subjunctive mood more systematically. At the same time, this analysis is helpful for learners to understand and master WISH subjunctive mood. At the end of this paper, some defects of this study are listed. For example, the examples in this paper come from COCA database, so it is difficult to include all kinds of WISH subjunctive mood. In addition, the classification method of WISH subjunctive mood needs to test whether it is suitable for other kinds of subjunctive mood. At the same time, some suggestions for the study of subjunctive mood are put forward, which can be used to systematically analyze the subjunctive mood in other databases, novels, plays or literary works using conceptual integration theory and interpersonal metaphor.
