叙事语篇中空间指示语的认知阐释

【摘要】：空间指示语是语言中带有普遍性的现象,它是语言和语境的关系在语言体系中的反映。迄今为止,众多语言学家从不同角度对空间指示语进行了研究,例如空间指示语的自我中心性,指示映射等问题。近年来,认知语言学的研究逐渐从研究单句的话语理解发展到研究段落篇章的认知加工上；而篇章语言‘学也开始关注从认知的角度来探讨指示语对语言的结构和发展的影响。在叙事语篇中,叙述者想要准确地向读者展现其构建的空间关系,就需要确立参照点和空间参照框架,并选用合适的空间指示词来表达空间关系。本文借助Levinson的空间参照框架(Spatial Frame of Reference)和Fauconnier的心理空间理论(Mental Space Theory)对英汉叙事语篇中的空间指示语进行认知性分析,指出在叙事语篇中,叙述者在构建空间信息的时候会根据表达的需要来选择他所关注的侧重面,从而选择不同的参照点,空间参照框架及空间指示词。空间参照框架能提供我们语言的视角和准确的空间信息,帮助我们推断及了解空间关系,从而了解整个篇章的语义结构。而空间指示语的使用则在一定程度上体现了叙述者的主观性,反映了一种抽象的人际、心理距离,以表达关系的疏远或亲近,对情节发展、人物塑造、意义构建等方面起到了至关重要的作用。本文从国内外著名小说中选取语料,通过对比分析指出英汉两种语言使用者在获取空间信息和对参照点的认知过程方面有着相同之处,而不同的语言结构及文化背景则导致两种语言在空间指示词的选用上有些许差异。
[Abstract]:Spatial deixis is a universal phenomenon in language, which reflects the relationship between language and context in language system. Up to now, many linguists have studied spatial deixis from different angles, such as the self-centeredness of spatial deixis and deixis mapping. In recent years, the study of cognitive linguistics has gradually developed from studying the discourse understanding of single sentence to studying the cognitive processing of paragraph text, and discourse linguistics has begun to pay attention to the influence of deixis on the structure and development of language from the cognitive perspective. In narrative discourse, if the narrator wants to show the spatial relationship he has constructed accurately, he needs to establish the reference point and the spatial reference frame, and select the appropriate spatial deixis to express the spatial relation. This paper makes a cognitive analysis of spatial deixis in English and Chinese narrative discourse by using Levinson's spatial reference framework and Fauconnier's theory of mental Space theory, and points out that in narrative discourse, spatial deixis are analyzed. When the narrator constructs the spatial information, he will choose his focus according to the need of expression, and then choose different reference points, spatial frame of reference and spatial deixis. The spatial frame of reference can provide our language perspective and accurate spatial information, help us to infer and understand the spatial relationship, and thus understand the semantic structure of the whole text. The use of spatial deixis to a certain extent reflects the subjectivity of the narrator and an abstract interpersonal and psychological distance to express the alienation or closeness of the relationship, the development of the plot and the portrayal of the characters. Meaning construction and other aspects have played a vital role. This paper selects the corpus from famous novels at home and abroad, and points out that the English and Chinese language users have similarities in the process of acquiring spatial information and cognition of reference points through comparative analysis. Different language structures and cultural backgrounds lead to some differences in the choice of spatial deixis between the two languages.
