英汉名词动用的认知转喻研究

【摘要】：名词动用是许多语言中的常见现象。英语把名词动用作为由零位派生实现的一种重要构词手段,以填补英语动词表达的空缺,而汉语则常把它当作一种修辞格。名词动用作为国内外的语言学者研究的热门话题,大部分研究针对语言系统本身、或从语用等角度进行。随着以体验哲学为基础的认知语言学的发展和兴起,人们对名词动用的产生和理解认知机制产生了兴趣。本研究收集430个现代英语和相同数量的汉语名词动用表达,运用认知语言学转喻理论进行分析讨论,比较和对比了名词动用在英汉两种语言中的异同特征；从认知角度分析名词动用的理据,验证了转喻是产生和理解名词动用的认知基础,探讨名词转化为动词转喻思维的发生情况,进而运用转喻探讨名词动用的认知操作机制。本研究共五个章节。第一章阐述了本研究的研究目标、研究背景、研究方法,并介绍了相关数据收集情况和全文结构。第二章介绍已有的国内外学者关于名词动用的主要研究。第三章从三个方面讨论作为本研究理论基础的转喻理论。即在传统的转喻定义基础上总结出转喻的认知定义：对转喻的分类进行整理；对转喻的认知操作机制进行讨论。第四章是本研究最重要的章节。根据ClarkClark和Dirven对名词动用的分类标准分析英汉语名词动用的异同；分析名词动用的认知理据；证实名词动用的认知基础是转喻；为运用认知转喻阐述名词动用的认知操作机制寻找契合点；从认知视角分析名词动用的限制条件,阐述名词动用的认知操作机制。第五章归纳本研究的主要发现、不足及对以后研究的建议。总之,我们从认知角度探讨了英汉名词动用的转喻机制,通过分析其成因和限制条件,进一步证实了名词动用不仅是一种语言现象,更重要的是一种思维方式。
[Abstract]:Noun usage is a common phenomenon in many languages. The use of nouns is regarded as an important word-formation method derived from zero in English to fill the gap in the expression of English verbs, while in Chinese it is often regarded as a rhetorical figure of speech. Noun usage is a hot topic for linguists at home and abroad, and most of the studies focus on the language system itself, or from the perspective of pragmatics. With the development and rise of cognitive linguistics based on experiential philosophy, people are interested in the generation and understanding of cognitive mechanism. This study collected 430 modern English and the same number of Chinese noun usage expressions, analyzed and discussed by using cognitive linguistic metonymy theory, and compared the similarities and differences of noun usage in both English and Chinese. This paper analyzes the motivation of the use of nouns from a cognitive perspective, verifies that metonymy is the cognitive basis for producing and understanding the use of nouns, probes into the occurrence of the metonymy thinking from nouns to verbs, and then uses metonymy to explore the cognitive operational mechanism of noun usage. There are five chapters in this study. The first chapter describes the research objectives, research background, research methods, and introduces the relevant data collection and the structure of the paper. The second chapter introduces the existing scholars at home and abroad on the use of nouns of the main research. Chapter three discusses metonymy theory from three aspects. That is to sum up the cognitive definition of metonymy on the basis of the traditional definition of metonymy: sorting out the classification of metonymy and discussing the cognitive operation mechanism of metonymy. The fourth chapter is the most important chapter of this study. According to ClarkClark and Dirven's classification standard of noun use, this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of noun usage in English and Chinese, analyzes the cognitive motivation of noun use, and proves that the cognitive basis of noun use is metonymy. In order to use cognitive metonymy to explain the cognitive operation mechanism of noun use, to find a suitable point of view, to analyze the limitation of noun use from the cognitive perspective, and to expound the cognitive operational mechanism of noun usage. The fifth chapter summarizes the main findings of this study, shortcomings and suggestions for future research. In a word, we probe into the metonymy mechanism of noun use in English and Chinese from the cognitive point of view. By analyzing its causes and restrictive conditions, we further prove that noun usage is not only a linguistic phenomenon, but also a mode of thinking.
