This thesissystematically describes prehensively analyses modern Chinese name addressform both on dynamic and static level by using knowledge of General Linguistics,Social Linguistics and Pragmatics, thus conveying its categories and summarizing itsusage regulations.Thismodern Chinese name address form is the name ortheaddress formcontaining family name, given name, or full name used in modern Chinese languagesociety.The name system has been formed gradually as the generation anddevelopment of family name, shi, given name and zi. It is constituted of original formsand varied forms. The original form is the name itself.The varied form is formed byabbreviating, repeating and adding. The quantity of name address is huge, with broadcontent which could meet various requirements munication. In name addresssystem, the number of address that is used face-to-face is smaller than that is not. Thename address form reflected the age, statue, generation, resident place and otherinformation, with distinct character of a nation and time. The choice of it is constrainedby the social statue of municator, purpose munication and the place munication happened. Before munication, the name address form canrefer to more than one people. In the munication, it can refer to the addresseeand build munication, it can indicate the relation and emotion of both parties,and it also can indicate social statue, politeness and strategies to show politeness. munication, the name address used to form a turn, role exchange and topicmaintain or change. It is a way to give feedback to the information given in thedialogue.
