指称论与奎因的翻译不确定性

【摘要】：奎因是当代著名的分析哲学家，逻辑实用主义的主要创始人，在西方哲学界与罗素、卡尔纳普等人齐名。奎因在其著作《语词和对象》中，首次提出了翻译的不确定性论，，这一论题在西方语言学界、哲学界和翻译理论界引起了相当大的反响。指称论可谓是意义理论中历史最为悠久而且影响较大的理论。指称论强调语词和语句的意义问题，并认为名称和对象之间是语言事物和非语言事物之间的关系，一个名称的意义就是它所指示或指称的对象。本文首先介绍两个理论的思想及发展，然后客观地对指称论进行了评析，从意义的不确定和意义与指称的区别两个方面对指称论进行批判，并将哲学理论和日常语言相结合来证实奎因对指称论批判的正确性。基于对指称论不合理因素的批判，一方面推动了意义理论的进步和发展，另一方面明确了指称论和指称理论的区别，并在一定意义上对英语词汇教学有重要的启示作用。
[Abstract]:Quinn is a famous contemporary analytical philosopher and the main founder of logical pragmatism. Quinn put forward the theory of uncertainty in translation for the first time in his works "words and objects", which has aroused a great response in western linguistics, philosophy and translation theory. Referential theory is the oldest and most influential theory in the theory of meaning. Referential theory emphasizes the meaning of words and sentences, and holds that the relationship between names and objects is the relationship between linguistic things and non-linguistic things, and the meaning of a name is the object it indicates or refers to. This paper first introduces the thought and development of the two theories, then evaluates the referential theory objectively, criticizes the referential theory from the aspects of meaning uncertainty and the difference between meaning and reference. And the combination of philosophical theory and everyday language to verify the correctness of Quinn's criticism of referential theory. Based on the criticism of irrational factors of referential theory, it promotes the progress and development of the theory of meaning on the one hand, and clarifies the difference between theory of reference and theory of reference on the other hand, and has an important enlightening effect on the teaching of English vocabulary in a certain sense.
