韩礼德功能语法中标记—价值结构之研究

在韩礼德系统功能语法的及物性系统中，，“标记—价值”是关系小句的一组功能变量；另一组功能变量是“被识别者—识别者”。这两组功能角色可相互自由叠合构成不同的解编码过程：解码过程和编码过程。由于标记—价值结构的发现，韩礼德成功地解释了识别关系小句中语态的确定规则。在理解识别关系小句时，这个配置结构也有助于澄清一些疑难问题。基于对韩礼德提出的标记—价值配置结构性质的不同理解，Davidse (1996)将标记—价值配置结构区分为两种不同的模式：表达与促成。有别于韩礼德对标记—价值配置结构的原始定义，她的两种标记—价值配置结构在抽象阶上有不同的分布。Davidse提出的问题涉及到如何理解韩礼德标记—价值配置结构的性质，因而值得进一步研究。依据韩礼德阐述的有关语言层次的“互现”概念(Halliday,1992:25)，本文旨在探索标记-价值配置结构的性质并指出Davidse的问题所在及其原因。其基本研究结果是：韩礼德对于标记-价值结构的价值定义—价值指“功能”或“意义”—其所指“功能”或“意义”应从语法层面理解，而不应仅仅从词汇意义上理解。因而价值在抽象阶上也总是高于标记。本文运用动态模式研究标记—价值配置结构，通过以不同方式使标记—价值配置结构在及物性系统中发挥作用，让该结构的功能和性质自然呈现。这一研究过程还可揭示一些涉及到韩礼德语言哲学思想的重要概念和关系诸如“语法隐喻”、“语法和语义”、“语言和语义”皆与标记—价值配置结构的性质相关联。因此，标记—价值配置结构不仅是及物性系统内及物性过程之一种，它还是一种很独特的配置结构：有着特殊的认知意义，并赋有浓厚的语言哲学色彩。
