[Abstract]:With the birth and development of audio film, a new video and audio product, translated film, is also born. The translated film, which combines the characteristics of commercial products and works of art, carries the culture of its origin or the content of the product itself. Therefore, as a channel of cultural communication, the translation of translated films is not only a process of transforming one language into another, but also a social phenomenon. In addition, there are many kinds of films themselves, so the translation strategies of different kinds of translated films should be targeted, not generalized. Under the guidance of Nida's theory of functional equivalence, the author probes into the principles and strategies of this kind of film translation according to the inherent attributes of epic translated films. The feasibility and practical value of this theory in the translation of epic films are confirmed. Functional equivalence theory mainly emphasizes the importance of readers, and advocates that priority should be given to readers' feedback on the target text in the process of translation. In order to achieve the maximum consistency between the target readers and the original readers in the information intake and feeling of the same work, in addition, the theory also emphasizes that the translation principle of meaning first and form second should be followed in the process of translation. The translation of film, as an interlingual transformation, the audience's position in it is like the position of the reader under the theory of functional equivalence. If film is regarded as a literary work, then Nida's functional equivalence theory plays a very important and prominent role in it. This paper first reviews the emergence and significance of Nida's functional equivalence theory, and takes it as the theoretical framework of this paper. Furthermore, the author summarizes the definition and language characteristics of epic films, and explains the targeted significance of functional equivalence theory to the translation of this kind of films. For epic films with distinctive characteristics, the translation purposes and standards that need to be emphasized in the process of translation should also be targeted and targeted. In the main part of this paper, the author combines three famous epic films, "three hundred Warriors of Sparta", "gladiator" and "Troy" as examples, taking the two basic principles of functional equivalence theory, namely, reader-centered theory and "meaning first". Based on the "vocabulary, syntax, style three pairs" of form 2, this paper summarizes the translation strategies of English epic films, that is, the six-step translation method and translation skills of this kind of films, such as tangent method, transformation method and grafting method. Based on the translation strategies of epic films, the author intends to advocate the establishment of film translation system and strategies, so that the translation of films is normative.
