《围城》翻译研究

【摘要】： 文体学可以简单定义为对文体研究的学科。文学文体学是以研究文学文本的主题意义和美学价值为基本目的的文体学分支。它具有语言学学科的性质，因而具有准确性、客观性、科学性以及系统性的特点。作为新兴的、具有边缘性质的语言学分支，文学文体学与翻译研究的结合，具有开创性、前瞻性的理论及实践意义。尽管已有学者在该领域进行了颇具意义的探讨，但还未形成系统、深入的研究。本文首先从理论上说明两者结合的可能性和必要性，进而通过翻译实例来分析译者如何在文学文体学的指导下，通过对各个层面上语言的选择，在译本中传达、加强原作小说的美学效果及其主题意义。从而证明文学文体学不仅对于小说的翻译过程有实际的指导意义，同时对翻译作品的评估和批评也提供了科学、系统的理论体系。本文的理论结构以翻译理论为基础，，同时结合语言学理论尤其是文学文体学的相关理论，以此弥补翻译理论的某些模糊性、主观性的不足，使论文的理论框架趋于科学、客观、完善。除此之外，本文作者还涉及了修辞学、美学、心理学和哲学的相关领域，极大地丰富了论文内容，拓展了研究视角。全文共分两大部分：第一部分，理论体系的建立。在回顾了文体和文体学的中外研究后，作者重点介绍了文学文体学的概念、发展、内容及特点，并提出了把文学文体学和翻译理论结合的想法，从而建立一种新的翻译操作和翻译批评的理论体系。该理论体系的建立主要是借鉴了申丹教授的《文学文体学与小说翻译》以及G．Leech和M．Short的著作《小说文体论：英语小说的语言学入门》，并结合作者对文学文体学其他文献的研究和自身的理解，提出了把文学文体学应用于小说翻译上的翻译理论体系。该体系由四个方面组成，分别代表了四个层面上文学文体学在小说翻译上的应用：词汇层面、修辞层面、句法层面和语篇层面。第二部分，以小说《围城》的英译本为例，通过文学文体学和翻译理论结合的评价体系鉴赏、批评《围城》的翻译，并具体到词汇、修辞、句法、语篇这四个层面，进而说明《围城》英译本的成功，同时也依靠新的理论操作模式对该翻译作品的不足之处提出了相关建议。文学文体学作为新兴的语言学分支，它同翻译的结合具有一定的学术创新意义，尤其是作为翻译的指导和评价体系引入小说翻译，既有挑战性又有创新性。同时可以弥补传统小说翻译操作标准和评价标准的模糊性、主观性、不系统性。它的准确、客观、系统的理论方法也极大地丰富了翻译研究。这正是本文的学术意义和理论价值所在。
[Abstract]:Stylistics can be defined as the subject of stylistic study. Literary stylistics is a branch of stylistics whose basic purpose is to study the thematic significance and aesthetic value of literary texts. As a new and marginal branch of linguistics, the combination of literary stylistics and translation studies is groundbreaking. Although some scholars have carried out meaningful discussions in this field, they have not yet formed a systematic and in-depth study. Firstly, this paper theoretically explains the possibility and necessity of the combination of the two, and then analyzes the translator's choice of language at all levels under the guidance of literary stylistics through an example of translation. In the translation, the aesthetic effect of the original novel and its thematic significance are enhanced, which proves that literary stylistics is not only of practical guiding significance to the translation process of the novel. At the same time, the evaluation and criticism of translated works provide a scientific and systematic theoretical system. The theoretical structure of this thesis is based on the translation theory, combined with the linguistic theories, especially the literary stylistic theories, in order to make up for the fuzziness and subjectivity of the translation theory. In addition, the author also involves the related fields of rhetoric, aesthetics, psychology and philosophy, which greatly enriches the content of the thesis. Expand the perspective of research. The paper is divided into two parts: the first part, the establishment of the theoretical system. After reviewing the Chinese and foreign studies of stylistics and stylistics, the author focuses on the concept, development, content and characteristics of literary stylistics. The author also puts forward the idea of combining literary stylistics with translation theory. Thus, a new theoretical system of translation operation and translation criticism is established, which is based on Professor Shen Dan's Literary Stylistics and Fiction Translation, G. Leech and M. Shor. T's works < the stylistic Theory of Fiction:. "an introduction to Linguistics in English novels." Combined with the author's research on other literature of literary stylistics and his own understanding, the author puts forward a translation theory system of applying literary stylistics to novel translation, which is composed of four aspects. It represents the application of literary stylistics in novel translation at four levels: lexical, rhetorical, syntactic and textual. The second part takes the English translation of the novel besieged as an example. Through the appreciation of the evaluation system which combines literary stylistics and translation theory, the author criticizes the translation of besieged City, and discusses the success of the English version of besieged City at the four levels of vocabulary, rhetoric, syntax and discourse. At the same time, based on the new theoretical operation mode, the author puts forward some suggestions on the shortcomings of the translated work. Literary stylistics is a new branch of linguistics. Its combination with translation is of great significance in academic innovation, especially as a guidance and evaluation system for translation. At the same time, it can make up for the fuzziness, subjectivity and unsystematicness of the standard of operation and evaluation of traditional novel translation, and its accuracy and objectivity. The systematic theoretical approach greatly enriches translation studies, which is the academic significance and theoretical value of this thesis.
