【摘要】： 小说作为一种文学形式以大众阅读为目的,同时蕴涵着许多文化特质。于是,小说可读性和文化传递性的并存,导致了小说翻译中的一对矛盾;适应目标读者的改变与文化特征的忠实传递。因而小说翻译也应考虑既要保证译语文化环境中的可读性,也要传递源语文化的特征。在翻译过程中既要注重文本本身的语言层面、文化层面等因素,也不能忽视译者、译语读者、翻译的历史文化背景等文本之外的因素。然而传统的翻译理论多是从语言学的角度出发,把翻译看作是两种语言的转换,强调原文本的核心地位,忽视了影响翻译的文本之外的因素。为了弥补以语言学为基础的翻译理论的不足,本文拟从功能的角度出发考察这一矛盾,以目的论作为研究的理论基础,通过详尽分析比较老舍的小说《骆驼祥子》及其两个英译本,作者认为以“目的”为中心的方法对研究和解决小说翻译中的矛盾行之有效。为了验证目的论在小说翻译中的可行性和适用性,本文运用该理论对《骆驼祥子》两个英译本进行比较研究,兼探讨目的论在翻译批评中的应用和意义。目的论认为翻译是有明确目的的跨文化交际活动,翻译的目的决定翻译策略,翻译的过程受到各种因素的综合制约。它突破了对等理论的限制,强调翻译中协调原文意图、译者和译文读者之间的关系,为翻译批评提供了一种动态多元的视角。在对译本的研究过程中,关注译者、译语读者和翻译的历史文化背景等因素对译本形成的影响,从而给译本更为全面、合理的评价。本文的独到之处在于运用目的论对《骆驼祥子》两个英译本从文本本身及文本之外因素两大方面进行详细的比较研究。本文由五个章节构成。第一章对小说翻译进行概述,总结小说语言的特征,指出小说翻译中的矛盾,并回顾国内外的相关研究,指出其中不足从而引入本文所用理论。第二章介绍目的论的理论框架及主要概念,并阐明了该理论对小说翻译的指导意义。第三章介绍小说《骆驼祥子》的作者、译文及译者的相关信息。第四章在目的论的框架内,对《骆驼祥子》两个译本从文本本身及文本之外因素两大方面进行详细的比较研究。第五章总结了目的论在小说翻译中的指导意义,并对译本进行总体评价。
[Abstract]:As a kind of literary form, novels are aimed at mass reading and contain many cultural characteristics. Therefore, the readability and cultural transitivity of novels exist side by side, leading to a pair of contradictions in the translation of novels. In order to adapt to the change of the target readers and the faithful transmission of the cultural characteristics, therefore, the translation of novels should also take into account the readability in the cultural environment of the target language. In the process of translation, we should not only pay attention to the linguistic and cultural aspects of the text, but also ignore the translator and the target reader. However, the traditional translation theory regards translation as the transformation of two languages, emphasizing the core position of the original text. In order to make up for the deficiency of the linguism-based translation theory, this paper intends to examine this contradiction from the perspective of function, taking Skopos Theory as the theoretical basis of the study. Through the detailed analysis and comparison of Lao She's novel "Xiangzi Locke" and its two English versions, the author holds that the Skope-centered approach is effective in studying and solving the contradictions in the translation of novels. In order to verify the feasibility and applicability of Skopos Theory in the translation of novels, this paper makes a comparative study of the two English versions of "Hump Xiangzi" by using this theory. Skopos theory also discusses the application and significance of Skopos theory in translation criticism. Skopos theory holds that translation is a cross-cultural communicative activity with a definite purpose, and the purpose of translation determines translation strategies. The process of translation is restricted by various factors. It breaks through the limitations of equivalence theory and emphasizes the coordination of the original intention and the relationship between the translator and the target reader. It provides a dynamic and diversified perspective for translation criticism. In the course of the study of the translation, the author pays attention to the influence of the translator, the readers of the target language and the historical and cultural background of the translation on the formation of the translation, so as to make the translation more comprehensive. The unique point of this paper is to use Skopos Theory to make a detailed comparative study of the two English versions of "Hump Xiangzi by Locke" from the two aspects of the text itself and the factors outside the text. This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one summarizes the translation of novels, summarizes the features of the language of novels, points out the contradictions in the translation of novels, and reviews the relevant studies at home and abroad. The second chapter introduces the theoretical framework and main concepts of Skopos theory, and expounds the guiding significance of the theory to the translation of novels. Chapter 4th, within the framework of Skopos Theory, This paper makes a detailed comparative study of the two versions of "Xiangzi Locke" from the aspects of the text itself and the factors beyond the text. Chapter 5th summarizes the guiding significance of Skopos theory in the translation of novels and makes a general evaluation of the versions.
